Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is aruged by many people that competition in professional, academic and daily life is a positive phenomenon. However, others believe that, cooperation in different aspects of life is better than competing with others. From my perspective, the competiton in these fields can make individuals more motivated. Therefore, people should not only cooperate with others but also should struggle more to gain appreciaton.
Firstly, competition boosts many people working in various firms and enhance their productive and creative skills. The people who work well and raise the reputation of company are rewarded by the boss and even they get bonus in the form of cash.Competing in schools can enhance the academic and mental growth of puplis. However, so much competition can result in jaleousy and loss of professionalism in individuals. From my point of view, I believe that competition is a positive thing but it should be limited and people should work as a team in various fields.
secondly, cooperation with eah other can lead to many positive developments in different fields. Team work can rise the development of a company. However, in some cases, in team work there is a lot of burden on a single person which can demotivate him. Similarly, in school and different life routines, some individuals are wroking to make a project successful and others just relax and kill the time.
Keeping in mind all these aspects, I believe that competition with peers and colleagues in various aspects is useful because it can enhance their inter-personal skills and develop critical thinking. However, the competition on large level can cause jaleousy and can lead to serious results. Therefore, people should compete with each other upto some extent.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the views supporting competition and cooperation, while also providing a clear personal opinion. For instance, the writer states, 'From my perspective, the competition in these fields can make individuals more motivated.' However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. While the advantages and drawbacks of competition are discussed, the exploration of cooperation is somewhat limited and relies on slightly repetitive points, such as the mention of team burden and people killing time. To reach a higher level, all ideas across both viewpoints would need to be equally extended and supported with deeper explanations or more robust examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical progression from discussing competition to examining cooperation, followed by a summary of views. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different ideas, such as dedicating specific paragraphs to both competition and cooperation. Cohesive devices are employed to guide the reader through the text, as seen with transition markers like 'Firstly,' 'secondly,' and 'Keeping in mind all these aspects.' However, referencing and cohesion are occasionally mechanical or slightly faulty, such as the abrupt transition between sentences in the second paragraph ('Competing in schools can enhance... However, so much competition can result in jaleousy'). Better integration of cohesive links would make the progression smoother and more natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, demonstrating a sufficient range to discuss professional, academic, and daily life contexts. The writer attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'phenomenon,' 'inter-personal skills,' and 'critical thinking.' However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that slightly impede communication, including 'aruged' instead of argued, 'jaleousy' instead of jealousy, 'upto' instead of up to, and 'puplis' instead of pupils. Additionally, some collocations could be more precise, such as 'on large level' instead of 'on a large scale.' To improve, the writer needs to expand their control over spelling and less common lexical items to ensure greater precision and accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures such as conditional and relative clauses like 'The people who work well and raise the reputation of company are rewarded.' There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, but they rarely impede communication. Examples of grammatical slips include missing articles ('raise the reputation of company'), minor subject-verb agreement issues ('the competiton... can make'), and prepositions inside patterns ('compete with each other upto some extent'). Punctuation and sentence boundaries are generally controlled, but occasional awkward phrasing occurs, such as 'people should not only cooperate with others but also should struggle more.' Incorporating a wider variety of error-free complex structures would elevate this aspect of writing.
