Student answer (Band 5.0)
Many people believe that competition at work, at school and in daily life is good thing. While others believe that try to cooperate more is beneficial, rather than competing against each other. We will discuss both views in essay with my opinion
In the first hand, people believe that competition at work is more beneficial because employs try there best in work or doing every events to take more sampathy from seniors and make their good will best in company or organisation. Moreover, mostly people do every work properly and on time if there is competion.
On the other hand, few people believe that try to cooperate with each other is more beneficial because if any organisation or company is doing team work so they all do work by seprating with each others which is really good for both organisation or company. Also new workers learn how to manage and work as a team by cooperating each others.
In my opinion i believe that woorking with cooperation is more benifical rather than competing against each others because competing makes fights against each others also work is not properly done in competions. Mostly people hate each while competiting each other so i believe that woorking with cooperation is more benifical rather than competing against each others.
In conclusion, competition is good in some situtations but i believe that when we are doing any task so competing against each is not a good habitat it can effect both relations and working ability of peoples.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
Please note that the length requirement is NOT met: the response contains 241 words, falling 9 words short of the 250-word minimum (11 words copied directly from the task prompt were excluded). Regarding task response, the essay addresses the prompt only minimally. It attempts to discuss both views on competition and cooperation and gives a personal opinion, but the ideas are limited and under-developed. For example, the argument for competition merely states that employees try their best to take sympathy from seniors, while the cooperation argument simply mentions that team members work by separating with each other, which lacks clear reasoning. The position is stated, but the support remains superficial and repetitive, preventing full development of the arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays some organization with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are often inadequate, inaccurate, or overused, such as the repetitive use of 'In the first hand' instead of 'On the one hand', and repeated phrases like 'more benifical rather than competing against each others'. Paragraphing is attempted, but referencing between sentences is frequently unclear, leading to a disjointed flow. For instance, transitional phrases are mechanically applied without effectively connecting the underlying arguments, causing the overall structure to feel mechanical and circular.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task, featuring basic and repetitive terms such as 'good thing', 'beneficial', 'work', and 'competing'. There are noticeable lexical errors and inappropriate word choices throughout the text, including 'sampathy' instead of sympathy, 'emplyoes' or 'workers', 'seprating' instead of separating, and 'woorking'. Additionally, collocation and word forms are frequently awkward, such as 'good habitat' instead of habit. These frequent errors in spelling, word choice, and word formation cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the vocabulary score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response features a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences and basic connectors. Attempts at complex sentences are often faulty, plagued by frequent errors in verb forms, tenses, prepositions, and article usage. Examples of grammatical lapses include 'While others believe that try to cooperate more is beneficial' (incorrect clause and gerund structure), 'mostly people do every work' (incorrect quantifier usage), and 'competing makes fights against each others' (awkward syntactic pattern). These frequent grammatical errors occur across simple and complex forms and can occasionally cause difficulty and confusion for the reader.
