Student answer (Band 6.0)
A significant proportion of people believes that competition at work, at school and in daily life is beneficial for individual to grow themselves. While, others believe that cooperate more with others is better thing to do good in their tasks. I partly, agree with this statements and we will discuss both views in the following paragraphs.
A considerable proportion of people think that competition is a good thing at work and school in many aspects. Because it can encourage individuals not only to do better but also take their tasks seriously and competitions help students and workers to put efforts in their tasks, which takes them one step close to their goals. Moreover, a high competitive enviornment is beneficial to individuals for their overall growth and it also helps them to improve their personality attractive and active. A good example of this can be a students who scored more marks in board exams due to the competitive enviornment of their class. Which encourage them to put more efforts then other classmates to prove themselves.
Critics of this approach argue that, cooperation is more beneficial for individuals instead of competing against each other. Because joint efforts can make a task easier for participants and also helps them to get better results with less efforts due to their teamwork. Furthermore, it helps those people more who have common goals, they can easily achieve their destiny through teamwork. For instance, if all the players in any sports game put joint efforts for their victory they can easily secure their trophy.
In conclusion it can be said that, both approaches are right in their own aspects. But i strongly believe that cooperation is more beneficial for individual as well as whole group to achieves their common goals. Instead of competing against each other because sometime competition create stress which is harmful for people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the competitive and cooperative viewpoints and presenting a clear personal position. However, some ideas are developed more fully than others. For instance, the paragraph on competition provides relevant reasons regarding motivation and goal-setting, but the examples given, such as a student scoring high marks due to a competitive environment, remain somewhat generalised and lack specific depth. Similarly, the conclusion clearly states your stance on cooperation reducing stress, but this is introduced quite late in the piece without thorough earlier elaboration. Overall, the main tenets of the prompt are appropriately covered with relevant supporting ideas, fulfilling the requirements for this level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical progression from introduction to body paragraphs and a definitive conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately to separate the two distinct views. Cohesive devices are employed to signal transitions, such as 'Moreover', 'Critics of this approach', and 'In conclusion'. However, cohesion occasionally feels mechanical or slightly faulty, such as starting a sentence with 'While, others believe...' or relying on repetitive transitional patterns. Referencing and paragraph transitions generally guide the reader through your arguments, securing the midpoint between logical organisation and fully flexible cohesive control.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
An adequate range of vocabulary is used for the task, allowing you to communicate your main points successfully. You attempt less common vocabulary such as 'beneficial', 'environment', and 'participants', though this is accompanied by some word choice and word form inaccuracies, such as 'cooperate more' instead of 'cooperation', and spelling slips like 'enviornment'. Furthermore, phrases like 'personality attractive and active' demonstrate awkward collocations. While these errors occur, they do not seriously impede communication, and the lexicon remains minimally functional and sufficient to convey the intended meaning throughout the response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to use varied structures such as relative clauses and subordinate clauses introduced by 'Because'. However, there are noticeable errors in grammar and punctuation, including subject-verb agreement issues ('A significant proportion of people believes'), article omissions ('a students'), and fragmented sentences that break off incorrectly ('Which encourage them...'). While these errors are present, the mix of structures and the fact that meaning is generally preserved ensures that communication is rarely impeded, reflecting a developing control over sentence patterns.
