Student answer (Band 5.0)

Avarge people thinks competition at work, at school and in daily routine activities whereas other people believed should be cooperative in life rather than competing other. I strongly believe that both are essential for our life becacuse it depends on the situation what we can deal with people.

Firstly, I want to say that competition is important in school because it is benefical for students who want to make higher academic record in class and real exam. If competition will high they will prepar accordingly and pressure will make them more responsible. For instance, competition at work to get the people higher position in office and they can get the higher salaries that they can survive in high class society.

On the other hand, cooperation is beneficial for people who are less competitve and living avarge life because cooperation help to build relationship. If people are cooperative at work place, they helps others and make their task easier if they facing any difficulty. Similarly, at school and daily life cooperation is very important to perform any task, For example if you are cooking at hostel you can take help from your roommate if your friend is cooperative also if you are doing any assignment with cooperation then your task will complete on time.

To conclude that, I think competitive person is more successful in their lives because they work individually and take risk to improve their life. However, cooperation is somehow important for work place as well as school and in daily activities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both competition and cooperation and give a personal view, so the response addresses the main parts of the prompt. However, the position is not fully consistent: the introduction says both are essential depending on the situation, while the conclusion says competitive people are more successful. The supporting ideas are relevant but limited and under-developed; for example, you mention competition leading to higher salaries and cooperation helping with assignments, but do not explain these outcomes in much detail. The response is also five words below the required 250-word minimum; the eight words copied from the task prompt are not counted. Develop each view with a clearer explanation and a specific example, then state a consistent opinion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on competition, a paragraph on cooperation, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “Firstly,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” help signal the main stages. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and some ideas are joined in long, loosely connected sentences. For instance, the work example beginning “For instance, competition at work” follows a point about school without a clear transition or explanation. The cooking and assignment examples are also crowded together. Use one main idea per paragraph, connect each example explicitly to that idea, and check that pronouns such as “they” and “your” have clear references.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “competition,” “cooperative,” “academic record,” “higher position,” and “build relationship,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations, and spellings are inaccurate or repetitive. Examples include “Avarge people,” “benefical,” “competitve,” and “living avarge life”; these errors make the writing less clear and less natural. Phrases such as “high class society” and “make their task easier” could also be expressed more precisely in this context. Build a bank of topic vocabulary and check spelling and common word combinations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional forms such as “If people are cooperative at work place” and clauses explaining reasons. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “other people believed should be cooperative” is missing a clear subject and verb structure, while “If competition will high” has an incorrect conditional construction. There are also agreement and verb-form problems in “cooperation help” and “they helps others,” as well as punctuation issues where separate ideas run together. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, complete clauses, and conditional patterns, then proofread sentence boundaries.
