Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The response introduces both sides of the debate and signals that you will give your opinion, so it is relevant to the question. However, it stops before explaining either view or stating what your own opinion is. The unfinished sentence, “the first and foremost point to support the first ideology that,” does not provide a reason, example, or complete argument. As a result, the task is addressed only minimally, and the reader cannot understand your position or how you weigh competition against cooperation. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, leaving too little space to develop the discussion. Complete the essay with reasons and relevant examples for both views, then state and support your own position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is an identifiable opening: you introduce competition and cooperation, then use “In contrast” to signal the opposing view. This gives the reader a basic sense of the intended direction. However, the response ends during the first body paragraph, so there is no completed progression from one argument to the next or concluding position. The phrase “The essay claims the main points” announces a plan rather than advancing the discussion, and the final clause is incomplete. To improve organisation, use separate paragraphs for the two views and your opinion, connect each reason to an explanation or example, and finish with a concise conclusion. This would make the progression clearer and the linking more purposeful.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “competition,” “cooperation,” “crucial role,” and “mutually,” which shows awareness of the subject. Some phrases are not natural or precise, however: “seprate concept” and “playing any wellknown organistaion” make the opening difficult to interpret, while “first ideology” is an awkward way to refer to a viewpoint. There are also spelling errors such as “seprate,” “organistaion,” and “wellknown.” Because the response is very short, it offers little evidence of range or flexible word choice. Aim for accurate collocations and clear expressions, such as “distinct concepts,” “a successful organisation,” and “the first viewpoint,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts more than simple statements, using a contrast clause in “Some people consider that … In contrast, other prefer …” and a longer opening sentence. However, grammatical control is uneven. In “Competition and cooperation both are the seprate concept and both plays,” the word order is awkward, the singular noun does not agree with “both,” and the verb should agree with the plural subject. “Other prefer” also needs a plural form, and “an crucial role” uses the wrong article. The final sentence fragment, “the first and foremost point … that,” is incomplete. Practise building complete sentences with accurate subject–verb agreement and articles, then proofread each sentence for a clear main clause.
