Student answer (Band 5.0)
The debate is still going on, that people have to stop competing with each other instead of that cooperate more. Other argue that, competiotion at school, wrok or in daily life is good thing. I believe that competiotion is good, if you do it for your knowledge , body, health and growth.
First of all, we discuss about competition at school, workzone and in other activity. Nowadays, we see competiotion is everywhere. Todays, students have hactic school scehdule. Each day they have to do something creative to get the good grade in sports, maths, arts and drama. Similarly, At work employees have a lot of task to do good compare to their other co-workers. This competiotion make students and employees a lot of anxiety, stress, indiscipline, not a good listener. For instance, My younger brother who is in 6th grade. He have to compete with his classmate all the time. He have no time to play with his friend, to watch TV. Another example, My cousin who work for Apple company. She have so many task to compelte within their week. Even on weekend, she have to get prepare for upcoming weeks.
Where as, other people believe that instead of competing with each other we should start to cooperate more. This would help person mind more relaxing and creative both ways. Such as, if students have no competion with classmate we can see students are really good in one particular thing or in all activities. At work, employee will help each other coworker and they make really good team and company.
In my opinion, Competiotion needed in today's busy life. But this competoition, have to make with our self not with others. This compition is about your health, mental peace and body. You have to be normal , calm in stressfull situation. You have to fit when you get older.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both competition and cooperation and state a clear personal view: competition can be useful when directed towards self-improvement. The examples of your brother and cousin make the pressures of competition concrete, and you also explain that cooperation can help colleagues form a team. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The competition paragraph focuses mainly on stress and workload, while the benefits of competition are asserted rather than explained; the cooperation paragraph is also brief and its claim about students is unclear. Your final opinion introduces competing with oneself, but this idea is not fully connected to the two views in the prompt. Develop the advantages and drawbacks of each view more evenly and explain your position with a specific reason.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about competition, one about cooperation, and a concluding opinion. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “Where as,” and “In my opinion” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, and the examples are not always clearly linked to the point they are meant to support. The opening sentence is confusing, and the shift from describing competition’s harms to arguing that it is needed is abrupt. Some linking is repetitive or mechanical, while references such as “This competition” do not always make clear which aspect is meant. Use clearer topic sentences and add brief explanations connecting each example to your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “cooperate,” “anxiety,” “stress,” “creative,” and “team,” so the main ideas can generally be understood. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “competition” and “good.” Frequent spelling errors—such as “competiotion,” “hactic,” and “scehdule”—make the writing less clear and reduce accuracy. There are also awkward word combinations, for example “compete with their other co-workers” and “help each other coworker.” Aim to learn topic vocabulary in accurate phrases, check spelling carefully, and choose more precise terms to distinguish healthy competition from excessive pressure. This would make your ideas easier to follow and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a conditional structure in “if you do it for your knowledge, body, health and growth.” However, sentence patterns are limited, and errors occur often enough to make some passages difficult to read. Examples include “Other argue,” “This competition make students,” and “She have so many task,” where subject–verb agreement and plural forms are not controlled. Articles and sentence construction also need attention: “is good thing” should include an article, and the opening sentence does not form a clear grammatical structure. Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, particularly after sentence openings. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, then review agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
