Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You introduce both sides of the question, referring to competition in school, work and daily life and to the alternative of cooperating. However, the response stops after “Firstly” and does not explain either view, give supporting reasons or examples, or state a clear personal opinion. As a result, the task is addressed only minimally, and the reader cannot see your position or how you would compare the two approaches. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, leaving too little material to develop the discussion. To improve, write a complete essay with a paragraph explaining benefits of competition, another explaining cooperation, and a conclusion that clearly gives your view, supported by relevant examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the opening: the first two sentences introduce contrasting views, and “While” signals a shift to cooperation. This gives the reader a starting point for the discussion. However, the response ends with the isolated heading “Firstly” and contains no developed paragraphs or logical progression beyond the introduction. The phrase “Today i will describe both point of view” announces an intention but does not guide the reader through actual points. For clearer cohesion, use separate body paragraphs, each focused on one view, and connect reasons to examples with simple linking expressions such as “For example” and “In contrast.” Finish with a conclusion that follows from the discussion.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “competition,” “cooperate,” “sectors,” and “opportunities,” so the general subject is recognisable. There is also an attempt to express an evaluative idea with “significant.” However, several word choices and combinations are unclear or unnatural, such as “very good think,” “escalates in public,” and “build there opportunities.” “Public” is also used where “people” would be more suitable. These choices make parts of the meaning difficult to interpret and limit the precision of the response. Build a small set of accurate topic phrases, such as “foster cooperation,” “create opportunities,” and “healthy competition,” and check that each word fits its intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts a complex opening structure, particularly in “While some public think that we have to try to cooperate more than competing others,” and uses a passive construction in “It is believe by some individuals.” These attempts show some variety beyond short, simple statements. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction are frequent enough to make several sentences difficult to follow. For example, “It is believe” needs a past participle, “it can build there opportunities” has an unclear pronoun and structure, and “Today i will describe both point of view in write” is not grammatically complete. Practise accurate basic clauses first, then combine them using controlled contrast and reason clauses. Also check capitalisation and punctuation, including “I.”
