Student answer (Band 5.0)

In our everyday life, we need both competition as well as cooperation for better results. The most compulsive component of our daily life is to be remains consistent in our doing. We should spend our time with pals, colleages or assistants greatly irrespective of any bad intentions.

As far as myself is concerned. competition at school, work or in office is not a bad thing even though it helps individuals to improve their performances. It has both averse and adverse effects. It depends on a person that how would he or she takes that thing. Competition automatically creates a sense of developing a self improving mind. With the assistance of a competitive,we can come to know our numerous mistakes and tackle them by analyzing our ups and downs with others.

As I said before that it also has some negative effects but these all are man-made.We can compete with people peacefull too. Individuals of some kinds often creates a problem for ourelves as well as for others and causes a dispute in that institution. Irrespective of learning something really good from people's acheivements, they get jealous conveniently from them which creates a spark of fire between their hearts and uselessly produces a lot of bad morals in them.

On the other side, cooperation is the only a whole positive action which never become a source of exageration of any matter. We can overcome any mistake with the assistance of our aquaintances. Moreover it propagates a ripple of productivity, love and affection in the environment ubiquotously in the sector. We should serve love with one other so that we can assist each other everytime in need.

To sum up, I would rather suggest that everyone have to work peacefully and help each other because every action holds positivity and productivity if holds well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both competition and cooperation and give a preference for people helping one another, so the response is relevant to the prompt. The discussion of competition includes a benefit—improving performance—and a drawback, such as jealousy and disputes. However, the position is not consistently clear: the opening says both are needed, while the conclusion favours cooperation without explaining how this view relates to the earlier claim. Several points remain general, such as cooperation creating “love and affection,” and there are no specific examples to show how either approach works at school or at work. Develop fewer ideas with concrete explanations or examples, and state your overall view clearly from the introduction through to the conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable paragraph structure: an introduction, separate discussion of competition and cooperation, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “As far as myself is concerned,” “On the other side,” and “To sum up” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, and links between ideas can feel mechanical. For example, the opening moves from needing competition and cooperation to spending time with friends without explaining the connection. References such as “these all” and “that thing” are also unclear, while several sentences join multiple ideas without a clear relationship. Organise each paragraph around one main point, then explain it in a logical sequence and use more precise referencing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of vocabulary related to the topic, including “competitive,” “performances,” “jealous,” and “productivity,” and some choices communicate relevant ideas. However, the range is not consistently controlled, and noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors sometimes make meaning difficult to interpret. Examples include “compulsive component” where the intended meaning is unclear, “averse and adverse effects,” and “serve love with one other.” There are also misspellings such as “peacefull,” “acheivements,” and “ubiquotously.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than choosing elaborate words whose meaning or use is uncertain. Proofread spelling and use straightforward topic vocabulary, such as “work together,” “improve performance,” and “create conflict,” where appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “even though” and “so that.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries can make the reader work to understand your meaning. For example, “is to be remains consistent” combines incompatible verb forms, “how would he or she takes” has an incorrect question structure and verb form, and “cooperation is the only a whole positive action” has problems with article use and sentence construction. Punctuation also affects clarity, as in “As far as myself is concerned.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause, then check subject–verb agreement and verb forms.
