Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is widely believed that comparison at work placement and school is best thing in routien life, while other people argue that we should try to help each other, rather than competing, from my perspective both are neccessory in profesional life, but helping other people is good and more benificial.

On the one hand, the competition is best in every place, because it motivates individual, then people learn more practical skils, another reason people interest those skills, for instance, in UK the people want to become docter, the students competition is high in school, because the United kingdom education system select only genuis students, i suggest that people competion is important in every school and university. In contrast, in daily life the genuion students can select on hospital, the work harder and competitive people can easily achive their goal.

On the other hand, many people want to cooperate more in working place compared to community, it help people is happy, and strong group cannot face difficulties, if some issue occure, they solve those problem in quickly, for instance, in USA, the amzone company employee work togather and every day their shipping process goes in smooth, they have no face in their life, in my opinion, working combine is crucial for every employee because they are less challen in practical area.

In conclusion, the competition is necessory in school and work place, it motivated people, and they want to focus more in their life, moreover, toghether work is good for employer, to cannot face issue.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both competition and cooperation and give a personal view, particularly in the opening and conclusion. The examples about students seeking medical careers and employees working together also relate to the topic. However, the position is not consistently clear: the opening says both are necessary but favours helping, while the conclusion stresses competition in school and work. Some claims are difficult to follow or insufficiently explained, such as the UK education system selecting “genuis students” and the Amazon example showing that workers “have no face in their life.” Develop each view with a clear reason and explain how the example supports it. A more consistent opinion throughout would make the response address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its broad structure. “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” signal the main stages. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear: several claims are joined together without showing how one leads to the next, as in the competition paragraph’s shift from motivation to practical skills and then to medical selection. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “those skills” and “they” do not always make the intended meaning clear. Organise each body paragraph around one main point, then explain and illustrate it in a logical sequence, using linking phrases only where they clarify the relationship.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “competition,” “cooperate,” “practical skills,” and “difficulties,” and some choices communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make meaning difficult to understand. For example, “comparison” is used where the topic requires “competition,” “working combine” is unclear, and “they have no face in their life” does not convey a clear idea. Spelling errors such as “neccessory,” “achive,” and “togather” also reduce accuracy. Build a reliable set of phrases for discussing motivation, teamwork, and outcomes, and check spelling and collocations before finishing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example with “because” and “if,” and the response includes some simple sentence patterns that convey basic points. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty, so readers must work to interpret several claims. In “it help people is happy,” the verb form and sentence structure are incorrect; “if some issue occure, they solve those problem” also has errors in agreement and clause structure. Articles and punctuation are inconsistent, including the opening sentence, which joins contrasting ideas with a comma. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly formed subordinate clause, then check subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
