Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and give a personal preference, so the response is relevant to the question. The discussion of competition includes motivation and focus, while the cooperation paragraph mentions sharing tasks according to people’s strengths and creating a friendlier workplace. However, these points are brief and mostly asserted rather than explained with specific examples. Your position is also not fully clear: you say both approaches are valuable, then favour competition, but the reason that people “enjoyed it” is not developed. The response is 240 words, so it is 10 words below the required minimum; the 13 words copied from the task prompt are not included in that count. Develop each main point and make your final opinion more consistent and better supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of the discussion. You also use basic signposting such as “Moreover” and “In conclusion.” However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are repeated rather than connected or extended—for example, the competition paragraph repeats that competition is “good” and important without showing how the points relate. Some links are unclear, including “This me lead in motivation,” which interrupts the flow. Build each paragraph around one clear claim, then explain its result or give an example, and use referencing and linking phrases accurately to show how ideas connect.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a small range of topic-related vocabulary, including “competition,” “cooperation,” “motivation,” “weakness and strength,” and “deadline.” These choices make the general subject understandable. However, the vocabulary is repetitive and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors reduce precision, such as “more strong,” “hard work” where an adjective is needed, “paly,” “sucesss,” and “enviroment.” Phrases such as “more good enough” and “take the competition in positive way” are also unnatural. Aim to use accurate workplace and education collocations, and check spelling and word forms carefully. Replacing repeated general claims with precise terms such as “improve performance” or “share responsibilities” would make the discussion clearer and more effective.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a contrast clause beginning “While” and a sentence introduced by “Moreover.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “this make workers students and civilians strong,” where subject–verb agreement and sentence structure are faulty, and “It give better understanding,” which also has agreement and article problems. The opening “While other argue…” is an incomplete clause, and “it may depends” combines incompatible verb forms. Work first on complete sentence construction, subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb patterns. Then practise combining ideas accurately, using punctuation to separate clauses and adding commas where needed.
