Student answer (Band 5.0)
In this contemporary era, some people believe that competition at work, at school and in daily life is beneficial. However, other argues that cooperation is more important than competition. In my perspective, both are important, but cooperation plays a vital role in society.
On the one hand, the supporter of competition believes that with this they can encourage others to work hard and improve their skills. let us take an example , when student compete with another one they put more effort into their studies to achieve higher scores in studies . This shows healthy competition can encourage to improve their academic results.
While, On the other side, the advocates of cooperation believes that working together is way more beneficial than competing against each other. One of the most significant benefits is that working together with one another helps you to understand the problem you can easily ask other if you don't understand it. With this you can share ideas ,and learn from each other. For example those who study in groups can improve their academic performance.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You discuss both competition and cooperation and state a clear preference for cooperation, so the response is relevant to the question. The competition paragraph gives a reason—encouraging effort—and a student example, while the cooperation paragraph mentions sharing ideas and learning from others. However, these points are brief and only lightly explained, and the conclusion adds little beyond repeating your opinion. The response also does not meet the required minimum: it contains 194 words, with 11 words copied from the prompt excluded from the count. Develop each view with fuller explanation and a specific example, then explain why cooperation matters more in your view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the basic argument. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and some linking phrases are awkward or incorrectly used. For example, “While, On the other side” combines two transitions, and “Consequently” does not clearly introduce a conclusion based on the preceding points. References such as “with this” are also vague. Use one suitable transition at a time, connect each example explicitly to its main point, and make the conclusion summarise the reasoning rather than simply repeat the opinion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “competition,” “cooperation,” “encourage,” “effort,” and “academic performance.” These choices make the main ideas understandable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, such as “working together with one another” and “compete with another one.” There are also noticeable word-form and spelling errors, including “supporter” where a plural is needed, “theri,” and “anyonther,” which reduce accuracy and polish. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. Replacing repeated general phrases with terms such as “collaborate,” “peer learning,” or “mutual support” would help express the ideas more efficiently.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional example beginning “when student compete” and a clause introduced by “that.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to process. Examples include “other argues,” “the supporter … believes,” and “working together … is way more beneficial,” which show problems with agreement and article use. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention: “let us take an example” begins with a lowercase letter, and commas are inconsistently spaced. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence punctuation, then build longer sentences only when you can control their structure.
