Student answer (Band 5.0)

As people stating that competition in school officies and daily life is a good thing.

but some state that we shoul cooperate share instead starting a competition among us we should give everyone chances.

If we look at this deeply it does have advantages and disadvantages competition is a great thing at school for newbies starter it motivates their brain to grow and perform more put kore efforts try to be more ahead of their competitors whereas in further grades this might slightly be problematic due to one fight with another and making it competition more than studies Looking at this from office and Alderley views this might cause envy anger in others from those who are ahead of them ruining the relations. Competitors in offices or any work place would definitely help them get bonus rewards promotions making others want those things aswell in this case colleges friends working together can be in a healthy competitive relationship also helping eavh other grow more motivate incourage both parties towards the prize winning and happiness.

In my personal opinion both of these statements i would agree with if taken in positive way teaching younger generations to be competitive with each other might not be a good idea without positivity but if we tecah them with manners its a great thing and they can help each other grow learning something at young age really matters because growing up it becomes your personality this way we can bring peace within competition and it doesn't harm anyone from my personal experience me and my brother have been competitive against each other while growing up hut when i was fully grown adult i realised this just made us apart and distant from each other we are not loving towards anymore just because being competitive so i started doing it in positive way to get closer to my brother again explaining him that we are siblings and we should help each other grow instead of putting down on another.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides by discussing how competition can motivate students and workers, while also noting that it may create conflict and damage relationships. Your personal view is present: competition can be positive when people are taught to support one another. The example about your relationship with your brother gives the response a relevant personal dimension. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The school and workplace points are combined, and the benefits of cooperation are not explained as fully as the risks of competition. Your position also shifts between accepting competition and preferring cooperation, so clarify how you balance the two views and support each with a specific explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: the response moves from the two views to your opinion and personal example, and phrases such as “In my personal opinion” signal a change in focus. However, the main ideas are crowded into long, loosely connected sections, with no clear paragraph breaks to separate the discussion of school, work, cooperation, and your conclusion. Linking is often repetitive or unclear; for example, “whereas in further grades” does not clearly show how the point contrasts with the earlier one. The final personal example is relevant but runs into the conclusion without a clear transition. Use distinct paragraphs and connect each point with precise links that show whether you are adding, contrasting, or explaining an idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “competition,” “motivates,” “promotions,” “envy,” and “relations,” so the reader can follow the general discussion. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “newbies starter,” “Alderley views,” and “putting down on another.” Spelling errors, including “shoul,” “eavh,” and “tecah,” also make the writing less clear. Aim for more precise expressions and check spelling carefully. For example, you could describe competition as “a source of motivation,” say that it can “damage workplace relationships,” and explain that people should “support rather than undermine one another.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to express complex relationships, particularly in the sentence beginning “In my personal opinion,” and you use some subordinate clauses to explain causes and consequences. However, many sentences are difficult to follow because of faulty sentence boundaries, missing punctuation, and errors in sentence structure. For instance, “If we look at this deeply it does have advantages and disadvantages competition is a great thing at school” joins separate ideas without appropriate punctuation. There are also problems with verb forms and agreement, as in “we should cooperate share” and “this just made us apart.” Use shorter, complete sentences first, then add complex clauses with accurate punctuation. Check that each sentence has a clear subject and verb and that verb forms fit the meaning.
