Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many people in the globe debate whether competition at work, school and daily life is beneficial, or if we should focus more on cooperation. In my opinion, while compettition motives people to perform better and encouraged individuals, cooperetaing is essential for building strong relationship and achieving long-term success.
On the one hand, competition can be powerful motivator. In school and workplaces competiting against others often pushes individuals to work harder and improve their skills. For instance, when students compete for top grades, they tend to study with more focus. Similarly, healthy workplace competition can drive employees to reach their targets and innovate, which helps business grow.
On the other hand, cooperation is equally important because many people are at work can not be done alone. Working together allows people to share different ideas and support each other. For example, in a company project, team members who cooperate can finish tasks faster and solves problems more creatively than individuals working in isolation. Furthermore, cooperation creates a friendly environment, where as constant competitions can lead stress and headache, jealousy and conflict. Moreover, competitions in workplace or school have some advantage to achive something by hardwork but have some drawback also. who are not able to compete with others, they can be suffer and saw downfall in their career.
In conclusion, both compettition and cooperation have their places in modern society. While competition encourages perosnal growth and higher performance, cooperation ensures harmony and teamwork. Therefore, a balance of both is ideal for a healthy and productive life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear position: competition can motivate people, but cooperation is essential for relationships and long-term success. Relevant examples, such as students aiming for top grades and colleagues completing a company project, support the main points. This meets the task well, although the two views are not developed equally: the benefits of competition are explained briefly, while the cooperation paragraph includes several ideas that are not fully clarified. The point about people who cannot compete suffering career setbacks is relevant, but its connection to your overall argument could be explained more carefully. To strengthen the response, develop each main reason with a clearer explanation and make the comparison between the benefits and drawbacks more precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that restates your balanced position. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the discussion. The progression is generally logical, but cohesion becomes less controlled in the long cooperation paragraph: the shift from teamwork benefits to stress, jealousy, and career setbacks makes the paragraph feel crowded. Some links are also awkward, as in “Moreover, competitions in workplace or school have some advantage…” A clearer topic sentence and more deliberate grouping of related points would improve flow. Use linking phrases to show the relationship between ideas, rather than adding points in sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “innovate,” “in isolation,” “long-term success,” and “productive life,” which helps express the main ideas. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “compettition,” “cooperetaing,” “perosnal,” and “achive.” Some collocations are also unnatural, such as “competition motives people,” “many people are at work can not be done alone,” and “lead stress and headache.” These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall argument, but they make parts of it less fluent and sometimes unclear. Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships—for example, “motivate people,” “tasks cannot be completed by one person,” and “cause stress.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including a concession in the introduction (“while competition…”) and a relative clause in “an environment, where…” The main message is usually understandable, but errors in sentence construction and verb forms sometimes make the reader work harder. For example, “many people are at work can not be done alone” combines incompatible structures; “team members… can finish tasks faster and solves problems” has a subject–verb agreement error; and “they can be suffer” uses an incorrect verb pattern. There are also problems with articles and sentence boundaries in places. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them, and check that each subject matches its verb.
