Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both competition and cooperation and state your preference for competition in the introduction and conclusion. However, the response only partially develops the task: the points about competition identifying suitable workers and improving knowledge are asserted rather than explained with a clear example, while the cooperation paragraph gives benefits but does not weigh them against your preferred view. The conclusion also says both are important before declaring competition more important, without resolving this contrast. The response contains 232 words, so it is 18 words below the required minimum; 62 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. To strengthen the response, explain each main reason and add a relevant example, then make your comparison and position consistent.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several ideas repeat rather than build: the opening and first body paragraph both restate that competition is a good thing, and the final paragraph repeats the same preference. Some links are mechanical, while references such as “which will help” recur without making the relationship between ideas precise. Develop a clearer sequence in each body paragraph—claim, explanation, example—and use more varied, accurate links between those steps.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “competition,” “cooperate,” “productivity,” “logical thinking,” and “relationship.” This is enough to communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and key words are repeated frequently, especially “competition,” “help,” and “important.” Several word choices or forms are inaccurate, such as “in everywhere,” “competite,” “collegues,” and “ablility,” and phrases like “memory learning ability” are unclear. These errors sometimes make the intended meaning less easy to follow. Build a wider set of precise terms for discussing collaboration and performance, and check spelling and natural word combinations. For example, use “in many settings” rather than “in everywhere,” and “compete” rather than “competite.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range is limited, and attempts at more complex structures often contain errors. Examples include “It will results” (incorrect verb form), “cooperating with others will helpes” (incorrect verb form), and “competition … it test” (subject–verb agreement). There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, as in “in a daily life For instance,” where a full stop is needed. These recurring errors can make some sentences difficult to read. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and verb patterns after modal verbs, and punctuate complete sentences carefully before adding more complex structures.
