Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, competition is one of most popular thing in today life, that every one wants to become better then from all others. So some people belive it is good for better life while other think we must cooperate more for good life. In my opinion, competition is very important to become more achieveable as compair to cooperate to each other. This essay will discuss both points of view in details.

On one hand, competition is very importing things in daily life like at school and at work because of following reasons. Firstly, competition is realy good for better life to become more success and achieve more and more. In competition every one focus to doing better thing as compair to other to get more focus and creadet. For example if one person perform better in work as compair to other then of course every one will give him example as great person.

On other hand, people also think that coopetation is good things for best and happy life. If people cooperate with each other in any organization, then they will be live good life, because when people cooperate with each other then they will easily solve any problem. For example, if there is one difficult task to solve. So it will be easy to solve the task together as compair to solve solo person.

In conclusion. competition is very important to live better life as compair to cooperation in nowadays life. So we must be try too much better as compair to all other.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both sides of the question and state a clear preference for competition, particularly in the introduction and conclusion. The examples about a high-performing employee and people solving a difficult task together are relevant. However, the discussion is only partial: the benefits of competition are described mainly as becoming successful and receiving recognition, while the advantages of cooperation are stated broadly rather than explored. The position also needs more explanation of why competition is preferable despite the cooperation example. Develop each main idea with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation or a specific, relevant example, and make the comparison between the two views more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On one hand,” “On other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the structure. Within paragraphs, however, progression is sometimes mechanical, with repeated patterns such as “because” and “For example,” and the links between claims are not always clear. For instance, the move from doing better at work to being regarded as a “great person” needs a more explicit explanation. The conclusion repeats the preference but does not draw together the discussion. Use a wider range of linking methods and ensure each example clearly supports the point before moving on.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a small set of relevant terms, including “competition,” “cooperate,” “organization,” and “solve any problem,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, vocabulary is basic and repetitive, and frequent spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make expression awkward: “importing things,” “more achieveable,” “compair,” and “creadet” are examples. Phrases such as “better life” and “good things” recur without much precision. Build a more accurate range for discussing outcomes and teamwork, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More natural choices such as “achieve greater success,” “gain recognition,” and “work collaboratively” would make the ideas clearer and more appropriate for an academic essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer sentences using clauses and reasons, for example, “If people cooperate with each other in any organization, then they will be live good life, because…” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but control is weak: verb forms, articles, agreement, and sentence construction are often inaccurate. Examples include “one of most popular thing,” “every one wants,” “they will be live,” and “we must be try.” The conclusion also begins with a fragment-like punctuation choice: “In conclusion.” followed by a new sentence. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add subordinate clauses. Check that each subject has the correct verb form and that articles and plural endings are included where needed.
