Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this contemporary world the people have the view that it is good to have competition at every stage of their life like at work, school and daily life. I think it is good strategy in this modern world if you can not compete you will survive here, if you can not comply with the theory of survival of fittest it will be getting really hard for you to spend your life being ecstatic. I have few reasons to discuss here.

first if you are religious at work and at school having the opinion that everything is written why should I work. That is thing you have to pay for in future. Every action has its equal and opposite reaction, ifyou work hard and toil you obviously you will get good grades, it build you character and recognition either at work or at school.

second if you are reliant on your parents in your daily life that they will feed me throughout my life. That also bring severe consequences because the parents have to die someday then who will you call for help. As a result you will not be able to compete and survice in this modern world because you are programmed not to work, you are programmed to be lethargic.

In constrast if you have earn more at workplace, at school and in your daily life but the ego of competition in there your vein it is toatally ruthless and rude. Through this nature and behaviour yo will be showing seriousness and angry behaviour even in a happy, charming and joyfull situation and you will be prone to mental illness, anxiety, and stress.

In conlusion we can say that it is better to have compietitve nature but showing that in every joyfull situation or the event where it is not suitable it is not good to have this behaviour. This is really a beautiful world try t enjoy every moment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear preference for competition, especially in the opening and conclusion, and you offer relevant points about effort, achievement, and the risks of excessive competitiveness. However, the task asks you to discuss both competition and cooperation, and cooperation is not meaningfully explained: the paragraph beginning “In contrast” focuses on the harmful effects of an overly competitive attitude rather than the benefits of working together. Several claims, such as relying on parents leading to being “programmed to be lethargic,” are asserted rather than supported with a specific example or explanation. To develop the response further, explain how cooperation benefits people and compare that view directly with competition, while making your position consistent throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, separate body paragraphs, and a conclusion, and signposts such as “first,” “second,” and “In conclusion” help identify the stages of your argument. However, progression is not always clear: the first two body paragraphs develop competition, while the paragraph introduced by “In contrast” discusses its disadvantages without actually presenting cooperation. Some links between ideas are abrupt, and the conclusion introduces a general message about enjoying life rather than clearly summarising the comparison. Plan one paragraph for each view, then connect them with clear comparisons and references. This would make the overall line of argument easier to follow and reduce reliance on basic sequencing phrases.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “recognition,” “consequences,” “lethargic,” and “mental illness, anxiety, and stress.” These choices show an effort to express more than basic ideas. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “religious at work,” “earn more at workplace,” and “the ego of competition in there your vein.” Spelling errors, including “survice,” “constrast,” and “compietitve,” also make parts of the response harder to read. Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling carefully. For example, use “rely on your parents” rather than “be reliant on your parents in your daily life that they will feed me,” and describe “excessive competitiveness” rather than an unclear image about competition in someone’s veins.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer conditional or cause-and-effect sentences, for example, “if you work hard and toil you obviously you will get good grades.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in sentence boundaries, agreement, articles, and verb forms can make meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “it build you character,” “That also bring severe consequences,” and “if you have earn more.” Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, particularly where a new sentence begins with “first” or “second.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly formed subordinate clause, then check subject–verb agreement and verb forms before adding further ideas.
