Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You introduce both sides of the debate and give relevant points: competition may encourage effort and skill development, while cooperation is linked to well-being. The school example about students aiming for higher marks also supports the competition argument. However, the response is incomplete: the cooperation view is only briefly introduced, there is no developed example or explanation, and your own opinion is not stated clearly beyond promising to give it. The response contains 162 words, so it is 88 words below the required minimum; this leaves too little space to address and support all parts of the task. Develop both views, state your position directly, and explain it with a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph beginning “To begin with” for competition, and a contrasting paragraph beginning “On the other hand.” These signposts help readers identify the two viewpoints, and the school example follows logically from the point about competition. However, progression is limited because the final paragraph stops after introducing cooperation, so the discussion has no conclusion or clear overall resolution. Some links are also awkward: “Allowing people to become more focus” is not clearly connected grammatically to the preceding sentence, and “Because” begins a fragment. Complete the second viewpoint and add a concluding paragraph that states your opinion; use linking phrases to show relationships between complete ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “personal and professional growth,” “decision making,” “logical thinking,” “problem-solving skills,” and “mental health.” These choices show an attempt to discuss the issue beyond very basic terms. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are frequent enough to distract the reader, as in “cometing,” “ccooperate,” “imprvoe,” “peope,” and “cooporation.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “workhard for excellence achievements” and “maintain their standards.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, for example “work hard to achieve excellent results” and “maintain high standards.” Proofreading and learning vocabulary in phrases will make your ideas clearer and more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to use both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a relative clause in “skills … which help them” and a reason introduced by “Because.” However, control is inconsistent, and several sentence structures are incomplete or faulty. “Allowing people to become more focus…” is a fragment without a main verb, while “Because people feel stress…” is also a dependent clause standing alone. There are agreement and verb-form problems in “competition may also creating” and “it help,” as well as errors in articles, plurals, and punctuation. These issues sometimes make the relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and finite verb, and check agreement and clause boundaries when proofreading.
