Student answer (Band 5.0)
it is believed by some that competition at work,at school and in daily life is good thing.other believe that they should try to cooperate more, rather than competing against each other. In the following paragraphs i will discuss both perspectives.i, personally side with the latter view.
there are many reasons why some people think that competition at work,at school and daily life is a good thing.Firstly,it inspires them to work harder when they see other person is working more. This is how one can find the best version of them.secondly, from this one can know they can do better than they think.
on the other hand, those opposed to competition, they gave their reasons as follows.First of all among the children it may affect the most, when they see the comparasion due to competetion they might feel left out.they might hesitate learning new things.secondly, in any project if all cooperate each other they may all make good grades.it also shows in our daily life where we can cooperate each other to build a good environment.
I believe that competition is good for us because it challenges our ability.we can become the best version of ourselves through competition.but in some cases we should coperate, when it comes to any danger, we must help each other.
Summing up,it is good to have competition at work or at school or in our daily life,bt in some situations we should try to cooperate more rather than competing with each other.by balancing these two,we can do better in any sector in our daily life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You discuss both perspectives and state a personal view, so the response is relevant to the task. You explain that competition can motivate people to work harder and recognise their abilities, while cooperation may help children feel included and support group projects. However, these points are brief and general, and the conclusion shifts toward endorsing competition despite your opening statement that you side with cooperation. This makes your position inconsistent and leaves your opinion insufficiently explained. The response is also 214 words, below the 250-word minimum; 41 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each main reason with a specific example and make your position consistent from introduction to conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
Your response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “on the other hand,” and “Summing up” help signal the stages of your discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is limited because ideas are listed rather than explained or linked in depth. Some connections are unclear, as in “from this one can know they can do better than they think,” and the conclusion repeats earlier points without resolving the change in your stated opinion. Improve cohesion by explaining how each reason supports the paragraph’s main point, using clear references, and ensuring the conclusion follows the position established in the introduction.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “competition,” “cooperate,” “challenges our ability,” and “build a good environment.” There is some repetition of basic words and phrases, particularly “good,” “daily life,” and “best version,” which limits precision and flexibility. Several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “comparasion due to competetion” and “cooperate each other,” and spelling errors such as “coperate” and “bt” are noticeable. These do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall message, but they weaken clarity and control. Aim to use more precise expressions for motivation, inclusion, and teamwork, and proofread spelling and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentence forms, including “when they see other person is working more” and “when it comes to any danger, we must help each other,” but most structures are simple and several attempts are not controlled accurately. Errors include missing articles in “is good thing” and “other person,” subject–verb or pronoun problems in “they gave their reasons” and “one can know they can do better,” and awkward sentence construction in “those opposed to competition, they gave their reasons.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, especially at sentence beginnings and around commas. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although the main meaning remains understandable. Practise accurate complex sentences and check articles, agreement, sentence boundaries, and capital letters.
