Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The argument given is quite well and a lot of debate can be done on it but for person like me who may not know the exact meaning of competition. For this,Competition means to compete or to fight to each other to excel from other person in specific task or you can understand it in this manner, to left the other person behind and prove him that you are more excellent in doing that.So for this argument,It is true that there are two classes which thought in opposite manner and in both of thier aspects many aspects are right. It is the same comparison like captalist system and communist system.

The first group think in that manner because this will create an environment which will give lot of outputs. This way every one will try to prove themselves and try to move futher into it and it will ultimatily benefits the nation. In this way the one who does not like to work need to excel in their coresponding field to prove himself or to just survive in this brutal society.

The second group which thinks that every one should be coperative because if competitions become so intense they forget all manner and ethics and just got disolve in black depth of beating the opponent. In this way the person can not become a part of society and left alone. We can relate it by this qoute:

"All is well in Love and War"

In my point of view we should try to adapt both of this environment but in optimize manner so we can create a society which have coperative members and as well as productive society which excel in good production.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both perspectives and give a personal view, so the response addresses the main parts of the prompt. The explanation of competition focuses on its potential to increase effort and productivity, while the cooperation paragraph raises the risk that intense rivalry can undermine ethics and social belonging. However, these ideas remain general and are not supported with a specific example or much explanation. The comparison with capitalism and communism is introduced but not developed, and the final opinion—that society should adopt both approaches “in optimize manner”—does not explain when or how each should be used. Develop each side with a concrete example and make your preferred balance more precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a concluding opinion. This helps the reader identify the main stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several ideas are joined in long sentences without clear relationships. For example, the opening moves from defining competition to contrasting social systems, but the relevance of that comparison is not explained. Linking phrases such as “The first group” and “The second group” provide basic signposting, though the repeated pattern feels mechanical. Use clearer topic sentences, separate distinct points, and connect each example directly to the claim it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “competition,” “cooperative,” “productive,” “ethics,” and “society,” and you try to express abstract ideas about rivalry and social outcomes. However, the range is limited and many word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes meaning difficult to follow. Phrases such as “excel from other person,” “got disolve in black depth,” and “optimize manner” are not natural in this context. Spelling errors, including “thier,” “futher,” and “ultimatily,” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of topic-specific collocations and check spelling; aim for precise expressions such as “outperform others,” “intense rivalry,” and “a balanced approach.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and subordinate clauses, for example, “because this will create an environment which will give lot of outputs.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in “The first group think” and “the one who does not like to work need to excel”; articles and sentence construction are also problematic in “for person like me.” Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, especially where sentences run together after commas or full stops. These frequent errors can make the reader work to understand your meaning. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using controlled clauses and check subject–verb agreement.
