Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people thinks that competition at work, school and in daily life is good thing, While other believe that we should try to cooperate more, rather than competing each other. I largely agree with the opinion of competition, It brings best from the indiviuals, But competition should be in postive sense not taken as personally, becuase it creates jelousy and negative things.
Competition force person to perform at its maximum potential, without competition indiviual always thinks he is the best and there is no room of improve for him. If a student have no classmates then he will come at first postion every time eventhough its number were less than 50%. It create a delusion in the mind of student.
There is a worse side of competition aswell, If it is not taken in postive sense and took competition personally, Then it can cause jelousy and legpulling. For instance two person working at same post one is newly hired and second has been working from 2 years, on the basis of performance first got promotion than second who was hired earlier than him. As a result, it will tence working enviroment, that is not good for the firm aswell.
In conclusion if the competition is not taken positively then it will cause more bads rather than goods. so competition should not be personal and took it in that frame of mind it will enhance productivity. Here the mentourship and managment palys vital role.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear preference for competition, saying it brings out people’s best, and you acknowledge a drawback through the workplace promotion example. However, the task asks you to discuss both competition and cooperation, and cooperation is mentioned only in the opening, with no explanation or example of its benefits. Your ideas about competition are relevant but under-developed: the student example illustrates the value of comparison, while the promotion example mainly shows the risk of resentment. The conclusion repeats your view rather than extending it. The response is 230 words, so it is 20 words below the required minimum; 11 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop both sides and support each with a fuller explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Each body paragraph focuses on a related point, and examples help readers follow the discussion. However, progression is limited because the essay moves from the benefits of competition to its disadvantages without developing the cooperation side of the question. Linking words such as “If,” “For instance,” and “As a result” are used, but some connections are unclear or mechanical; for example, “As a result” does not clearly explain how the promotion situation leads to a tense environment. The conclusion also repeats earlier points. Use clearer topic sentences, explain the relationship between each example and claim, and add a paragraph that develops cooperation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “maximum potential,” “promotion,” “working environment,” and “productivity.” These choices help communicate your main points, but the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled expressions make the writing less clear. Examples include “legpulling,” “bads rather than goods,” and “taken in positive sense”; “jealousy” and “positive” are also misspelled. Some phrases are not natural in context, such as “brings best from the individuals.” Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. A wider set of terms for cooperation—such as “share expertise” or “work towards a common goal”—would also help you address the full topic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a conditional structure in “If a student have no classmates then he will come at first position.” However, errors are frequent and sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Subject–verb agreement is inconsistent (“Some people thinks,” “Competition force,” and “a student have”), and articles and plurals are often missing or incorrect (“a good thing,” “two person”). Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention: the opening uses a comma splice, while several sentences begin with capitalised “If” or “Then” after commas. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then build longer sentences with clear clauses and consistent punctuation.
