Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the modern era, the compition are increased in every indiviuals. some poeple argued that there must be compitition in every indiviuals such as learning purposes, in daily performences and some other activites, while other believe that eveyone has to doing on their work and do not compare yourself to others. I will discuss both views and give my opinion in the next paragraph.
Firstly, some indiviuals say the competition is crucial for checking the abilities of the worker. They believed that if the person compare yourself to others, he can easily adopt the new things and he encourage yourself to achieve the things that he want. he compare yourself to other and want to achieve his desire things. For instance, my brother was very lazy and he do not make efforts in his study. I teach the lesson to him and say that compare yourself to your cousin. he is brilliant in his study, after he learn the lesson from their cousin and keep struggle hard. when their result come , he got the 1st position in their result. Therefore, it is the other method to stay connected your children to other activities and it is good thing that must be gain to indiviuals.
On the other hand, indiviuals should be struggle more as compare yourself to others.it seems that if peoples are compare yourself to other, they can lose their potential and think about they are same as other. they think they adopt all the things that adopt others. In my perspective, we should try to doing all the things that we want. we do not compare ourself to other because the abilities we have taken, the other do not have these abilities.
In conclusion, people are doing your on task . they do not compare yourself to other. when they compare yourself to other they can lose the attentions and your goals for just other people thinks.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both sides of the discussion: the first body paragraph explains how comparison may motivate people to improve, while the next argues that it can undermine confidence and distract people from their own abilities. Your opinion is present in “In my perspective,” but it is not consistently clear: the introduction says you will give an opinion, and the conclusion mainly repeats that people should not compare themselves. The discussion is also only partly developed. The example about your brother supports competition as motivation, but the opposing view receives no specific example or explanation of how cooperation helps. State your position clearly from the introduction and develop both views with balanced reasons and relevant support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “Firstly” and “On the other hand” help signal the change in argument, and the brother’s story gives the first body paragraph a clear example. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the first paragraph moves from workers’ abilities to learning and then to children without clear links. References such as “they,” “he,” and “their” are often unclear, and the conclusion repeats the comparison idea rather than bringing the discussion together. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each explanation directly to its main point, and make pronoun references precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “competition,” “abilities,” “potential,” and “achieve,” and you attempt to express ideas about motivation and personal strengths. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “compare yourself to others” and “individuals.” Frequent spelling errors such as “compition,” “indiviuals,” and “performences” make the writing less clear, while phrases such as “desire things” and “stay connected your children to other activities” are not natural in context. Build a wider set of accurate expressions for competition and cooperation, and check spelling and collocations carefully so your intended meaning is easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional reasoning such as “if the person compare yourself to others, he can easily adopt the new things.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, pronouns, and sentence boundaries sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “other believe” needs a plural verb, and “he encourage yourself” mixes the subject and reflexive pronoun. The conclusion also shifts between “people,” “they,” and “your.” Practise building accurate sentences with consistent subjects and pronouns, and check verb agreement and tense. Shorter, correctly punctuated sentences would help you communicate your ideas more reliably.
