Student answer (Band 5.0)
competition makes human perfect and hardworking. some pupils thinks that competition at work, at school and in daily life is best thing , but others believe that we should try to cooperate , more rather than competing against each other. I will dicussed both these views and also give my opinion.
competition is very essential for best results , if people do not compete with each other than no one tries to work hard .it happened in all kinds of fields like in schools childern were competing with each other to get greater marks in class or in school. also in offices everbody was given tasks and asked them to finished this in short interval of time. it we remove competion in this then no one try to get good marks or to finish task in given time .
competition makes indiviuals to get their goal . for example different competition would be held in our village so that young people participate in it and also improves their self confidence .amd also improve their ability.
but on other hand sometime competition would be taken in negative sense, people try to harm each other . it remove the relation of brotherhood .
however people helped each other to get their goal if we dont held competition in it . teamwork would be used in achieve their goal.
sometime competion would cause fights and other activities.
To conclude , people would make themselves hardwork and confident if he compete with other but if we try to cooperate with each other it create love and kindness with each other

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both sides of the discussion and give a general view: competition can build effort and confidence, while cooperation can encourage kindness and teamwork. Examples such as pupils aiming for higher marks and young people taking part in village competitions are relevant. However, the ideas are brief and often asserted rather than explained; for instance, the claim that competition removes “the relation of brotherhood” is not developed, and the benefits of cooperation receive little support. Your own position is present but remains broad, especially in the conclusion. The response contains 239 words, so it is 11 words below the required minimum; the 26 words copied from the prompt are not counted. Develop each side with clearer reasoning and a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: the response begins with an introduction, gives reasons in favour of competition, then turns to its disadvantages and cooperation before concluding. Basic signposts such as “but on other hand,” “however,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression between points is not always clear, and several ideas are repeated or left disconnected. For example, the paragraph about village competitions is followed by a sudden shift to negative effects without a clear transition, while “sometime competition would cause fights” repeats the previous point. Paragraphing is limited, and references such as “it” in “if we remove competition in this” are unclear. Group related ideas into distinct paragraphs and use linking phrases to show cause, contrast, and example more precisely.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a basic range of topic vocabulary, including “compete,” “teamwork,” “self confidence,” “goal,” and “brotherhood,” which makes the main subject understandable. There are also attempts to express different effects, such as competition improving ability and cooperation creating kindness. However, vocabulary is repetitive and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which can make meaning less clear: “competition makes human perfect,” “greater marks,” and “finish task in short interval of time” are not natural expressions. Spelling errors such as “dicussed,” “childern,” “competion,” and “indiviuals” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of natural phrases for discussing motivation, collaboration, and outcomes, and check spelling and word forms during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response communicates its main points through mostly simple sentences and attempts some longer structures, including “if people do not compete with each other…” and “if we try to cooperate with each other…”. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation. Examples include “some pupils thinks,” “no one tries” followed by inconsistent forms such as “no one try,” and “people helped each other to get their goal if we dont held competition.” Several sentences run together, as in the opening discussion of school and office examples, making relationships between clauses harder to follow. Practise accurate present-tense patterns and build longer sentences with clear clause boundaries, full stops, and commas.
