Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people think that competition at work, at school and in daily life is a good thing but others believe that we should try to cooperate more rather than competing against each other and I strongly agree with this statement but in every sector cooperation is more imporatant inluding offices, homes, schools, universities and in all those places where people are working for their livelihood.
Some people think that competition at work, at school and in daily life is a good thing because being in competeion with someone some people may ehance their perofomance might be they performance better. I think that healthy competetion is good but even at schools they boosts confidence of their childern to compete with your class topper so that they wanted to uplift their childern's brain. some times as they have habit of being in competetion they started to implement it in daily life routine i think that was harmful sometimes because it may lose your connections with your friends and family and instead of strengthen it may weakens your bonds.
On the other hand, some people believe that we should try to cooperate more rather than competing against each other. If we should start to have cooperation with each other in all the phases of life. We should may not face any hurdle in life if we manage everything with each other humbly instead of having fights over random useless competetions which are not actually good for our childern's brain and they lost the power of intellectual thinking so we should have to cooperate with one another. such kind of bad competetions spread hate and negativity in society in schools, hospitals and offices.
To overcome this, people shoul have self control, cooperative, confident in their tasks that they can do it without having some competetion with anyone. They should try to ignore such things to make society a better living place.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You present a clear preference for cooperation, stating that you “strongly agree” and explaining that excessive competition can damage relationships and spread negativity. You also acknowledge the opposing view by noting that competition may improve performance and build students’ confidence, so both sides of the question are addressed. However, the discussion remains general: the school example is difficult to follow, and claims about competition harming children’s thinking are not supported with a specific example or explanation. Your final paragraph offers advice about self-control and cooperation, but does not develop your opinion as fully as it could. To strengthen the response, explain one concrete situation for each view and show more clearly why cooperation is preferable overall.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about competition, a paragraph about cooperation, and a concluding recommendation. Phrases such as “On the other hand” help signal a change in viewpoint. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear, and several ideas are joined into long sentences without clear relationships. For example, the discussion of school competition moves from confidence to daily habits and then to family relationships without explaining the links. The cooperation paragraph also repeats the recommendation to cooperate rather than building a sequence of reasons. Use one main point per paragraph, divide long sentences, and connect each example explicitly to the claim it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “healthy competition,” “cooperation,” “confidence,” and “negativity,” and the reader can generally identify your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, sometimes making ideas harder to understand. Examples include “being in competeion,” “uplift their children’s brain,” and “a better living place.” Spelling errors such as “imporatant,” “childern,” and “competetions” are also noticeable. Aim to learn accurate topic collocations and check spelling carefully; for instance, describe students as improving their “academic performance” rather than uplifting their brains. More precise vocabulary would help you express the contrast between constructive competition and harmful rivalry.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “if.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, sentence boundaries, and punctuation frequently make the reader work to understand the meaning. For example, “they boosts confidence” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “they started to implement it” shifts tense within a general discussion. The opening sentence runs several ideas together, and “If we should start to have cooperation…” is an incomplete or incorrectly formed conditional. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then combine related ideas with accurate clauses. Check agreement and keep verb tense consistent when describing general effects.
