Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this contemporary epoch, it is irrefutable fact that competition plays a crucial role in an individual's life to achieve success in their career path. On that note, many people assert that competition is an important factor for professional settings, academic level and in our daily lives, while others hold belief that cooperation should be more important instead of competing among other. This essay will not only discuss both given opinions, but why i strongly believe both are equally important will also be articulated in the trailed paragraphs.
Beginning with rationalization, there are multitudinous positive implications of former point of view. The first and foremost is motivation to achieve goal. To untangle this, competition bring a specific goal in individual's life as it can lead to do hard work for their desire goal. For instance, if any student wants to get first rank in class, he will stay more focused and study hard on the regular basis. Consequently, he can get their first rank by these hard work. Another worth noticing phenomenon is that competition can not only get success, but it will also make our skills strong. To expand, if we don't make effort to win other person, we can't learn special skills. Thereby, it is as important as success. Thus, there are enormous benefits of this trend.
On the other hand, there are multifarious positive outcomes of cooperating other people during work or any kinds of competition in school. The most prominent one is build healthier relationship with other person. Since competition make enemies of opposite person, I believe compete with supporting each other tend to make relationship much more strong. A clear example of this is, national level championship, in which, players not only support each other while practicing daily with each other, but they will also help during final game if anyone getting harm. as a result they can build strong interpersonal relationship with each other. Last but not least, teamwork is far greater than solely performance. Group activities are better for mental health as well as physical health as if anyone can not do any work, that gap can be fulfill by other team member. Thus, cooperation has a multiple benefits for an individual.
To recapitulate, considering competition and cooperation between each other, I firmly reckon that competition should be essential to be motivate and being expert in particular skills. Meanwhile, cooperation plays a pivotal role to get support from other people and to build healthier relationships.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and state a clear position: the conclusion says competition and cooperation are both important. The competition paragraph gives relevant reasons, including motivation and skill development, while the cooperation paragraph discusses relationships and the value of teamwork. These points answer the task, but some are more fully explained than others. The student-ranking example illustrates motivation, whereas the claim that competition strengthens skills is asserted rather than supported with a specific explanation. The championship example is also difficult to follow and does not clearly show how players help one another during a final. To develop the response further, explain each main idea with a clear cause-and-effect link and make your view on how the two approaches can coexist more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that returns to your position. Signposting such as “On the other hand” and “To recapitulate” helps readers follow the broad progression. However, some linking is mechanical or does not accurately express the relationship between ideas. For example, “Thereby” and “Thus” repeatedly introduce conclusions, while “Since competition make enemies…” leads into a sentence whose meaning is unclear. References such as “former point of view” and “that gap” are not always precise. Improve cohesion by using simpler, more exact links and by making the connection between each example and its main point explicit. The paragraphing is appropriate, but transitions within paragraphs need clearer logic.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You show an ambitious range, including “pivotal role,” “interpersonal relationship,” and “multitudinous,” and the main ideas remain understandable. However, several less common choices are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “in the trailed paragraphs,” “rationalization,” “untangle this,” and “make our skills strong” do not fit their intended meanings or contexts. There are also collocation and word-form problems, such as “cooperating other people” and “a multiple benefits.” These choices sometimes make the reader pause, even though the overall message can be followed. Aim for natural, accurate academic phrasing rather than using elaborate vocabulary for its own sake, and check collocations and word forms when revising.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional and subordinate clauses, as in “if any student wants to get first rank in class…” and “Since competition make enemies…”. This gives the response some structural variety, and the intended meaning is generally recoverable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in subject–verb agreement, articles, pronouns, and clause construction. For example, “competition bring” should have a singular verb, and “he can get their first rank” has inconsistent pronouns. The sentence beginning “Group activities are better…” also has an unclear conditional structure. Punctuation and capitalisation need attention, including the lowercase “as a result” after a full stop and the lowercase “i” in the introduction. Review agreement and sentence boundaries, then proofread for consistent pronouns and complete clauses.
