Student answer (Band 5.0)
Several people consider that think that competition or match at work, at school and in regular routine is a good thing. Others suppose that we should try to work together, rather than competing with each other.
Few individuals imagine competition are better for everyone because they make a chance to win in any fields such as work place as a office employee or school as a studnet But the difficulty level is different. Firstly, we talk about at work if any employee take a part in big project in office they always want to proved herself is best and professional. This type of activity is a practical example of life. If any non punctual person in office they showed interest to proved they are best compition is the best for them. Competitons are not like a race or not like a work done by first. This is the best way to upgrade the skills. This activity can improve our self confidence and ourself. Lastly, we talk about school students compitition as a students always want to be a first in class. so they always keep study hard to proved herself. Not just in study they always wanted to be a winner in play ground activities for instance games, running, football and many other physical games.
Some people believe they collaborate with other is better than competing againts him. working together is not a unpleasent experience but they explore new things and different ideas and much more things. Such as two minds work with them and take full focus on our project they will definately make a great outcome.
In my opinion, work together is best but compitition can make a different with each other. competition is very benefical to proved our self to make feel more confidence and winner. competition is not only in single field they have involved in every departemnt of fields. like technology, medical, sports and so much.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the question and give a personal view, so the response is relevant to the task. The discussion of competition includes examples from workplaces and schools, such as employees trying to demonstrate their ability and students aiming to do well in class or sports. However, these points are mostly asserted rather than explained: for example, the claim that competition is “the best way to upgrade the skills” would benefit from a clear explanation of how it does so. The cooperation paragraph is much shorter and its benefits are only briefly stated. Your opinion also shifts: you say working together is best, then emphasise the benefits of competition without clearly explaining how you balance the two. Develop both views more evenly and state a consistent position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a longer paragraph about competition, a paragraph about cooperation, and a concluding opinion. This helps the reader identify the two sides. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear, and several ideas are repeated rather than developed. For instance, the competition paragraph moves from employees to punctuality, then to skills and confidence, and then to students without clear links. Connectors such as “Firstly” and “Lastly” provide some signposting, but they do not always show the relationship between ideas, while “Such as” introduces an example without a complete sentence. Use topic sentences, group related examples, and add clear links explaining how each example supports your point.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “collaborate,” “self confidence,” “professional,” and “outcome,” and the reader can generally understand your main message. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “competition,” “best,” and “proved.” There are also frequent spelling and word-choice problems, such as “compitition,” “studnet,” “unpleasent,” and “benefical,” which make the writing less clear and less natural. Some combinations are awkward, including “make a chance to win” and “take full focus on our project.” Build a wider set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling; choose natural collocations rather than translating expressions word for word.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If any employee take a part in big project…” and clauses introduced by “because” and “rather than.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries often make the reader pause. Examples include “competition are better,” “they make a chance,” and “they always want to proved herself.” Some sentences are also incomplete or run together, as in “If any non punctual person in office they showed interest…” and the sentence beginning “Such as two minds…”. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check verb forms after “want to,” agreement, and punctuation between complete ideas.
