Student answer (Band 5.0)

Unquestionably, every coin has two sides and so are the people. Society's people are divided into two groups and therefore, competition and cooperation has become a topic of debate among the people. This essay will compare and contrast both of the opinions along with my opinion which is in the favor of competition view will be discuused in a sensible conclusion.

Nowadays, everyone wants to make progress with time as it is because of his own hardwork or with assistance of someone else. As at school, work and in daily life people sit together and produced results with their own prepectives. So, at work place or in daily life when people start making competition between them, it will help them to make progress in short period because during competition you make mistakes and it will help you to analyze yourself. After this strategy, you set your goals and start working on this and with no time you get the beneficial results. This approach will boost your confidance and encourage you to tackle the situations with strong midset. This technique prepare you for facing the challenges of life either it's your academic or job based tasks.

On other hand, people who depend on other contributions cannot make a big break through and bound themself in a short boundary because there is no chance for them to make mistakes and work on results. This mindset restrict their abilities about the self decision making and confidance. By doing such practices people become more depended while those are making competition gained more fruitful results.

To conclude, I would like to say that there must be a competition between the people at any stage of life. However, it will depend upon the mindset of the people that which view they are in favor of.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a clear preference for competition in the introduction and conclusion, and you give relevant reasons such as learning from mistakes, setting goals and building confidence. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and cooperation receives only a brief, largely negative treatment: “people who depend on other contributions” are said to become restricted, without explaining the benefits cooperation can bring or giving a supporting example. The discussion therefore addresses the prompt only partially, and the main claims about competition are asserted rather than developed with specific evidence. To strengthen the response, explain a genuine advantage of cooperation, such as sharing skills to solve a difficult workplace problem, then compare its value with healthy competition and support your opinion with a concrete example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its broad structure and follow the central preference for competition. Some linking expressions, including “On other hand” and “To conclude,” signal transitions. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear: the second paragraph moves from people working together to competition, mistakes, goals and confidence without clearly connecting each step. The contrast paragraph also presents cooperation as dependence, which makes the relationship between the two views difficult to follow. Several transitions are mechanical, and references such as “this approach” and “this technique” do not always point to a precise idea. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, explain it in sequence, and use clearer links between cause and result.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “competition,” “cooperation,” “progress,” “goals” and “challenges,” and you attempt more expressive phrases such as “fruitful results.” This gives you enough language to communicate the general argument. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, sometimes making the meaning less clear. Examples include “Society’s people,” “make a big break through,” “short boundary” and “strong midset”; spelling errors such as “confidance,” “prepectives” and “discuused” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural, precise combinations rather than translated or invented phrases—for example, describe people as “members of society,” say they “make significant progress,” and refer to a “limited scope” or “strong mindset.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including cause-and-effect structures such as “because during competition you make mistakes and it will help you to analyze yourself.” This shows an effort to express relationships between ideas, but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some passages difficult to read. For example, “competition and cooperation has become” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “This technique prepare you” also needs agreement. In “people sit together and produced results,” the verb forms do not match, and “it will depend upon the mindset … that which view” is not a well-formed clause. Practise accurate agreement, consistent verb forms and sentence boundaries; shorter, controlled sentences will help make your meaning clearer before you add complexity.
