Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some individuals argued that the competition at companies, at schools and in every day life was a good thing Other think that cooperation with people was more benificial. I believe that cooperate with people is giving the fruit.

Overall, those individuals think that the competition is good i think, that good is some cases like schools because its makes the pupils more responsible and also develops the confidence in students. For example, when student compete with his fellows they do work more consistently and gives full potential on work. Moreover, at work that thing is not good.

On the other hand, some people believe that the cooperation is good in work its great . For example, when you are working in the companies you are not doing alone you have other colleages with you want help anytime. Although, when you work alone like task assign from the manager you compete with your colleages for achieving the succes.

In conclusion, the working with people i think, cooperation is the best because you need help at anytime and cooperation makes the task easy and timely. However, competition is must when you task is individual because companies asses your ability, at school its make the students responsible and also build the confidence. In every day life this is not neccessary to compete with others its causes the stress and depression.

Finally, different stages of life both has significant value sometimes competition is important sometimes is not crucial at work,at school and every day life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the discussion and state a preference for cooperation, especially in the opening and conclusion. You also give relevant examples, such as pupils working more consistently when competing and colleagues helping one another. However, the position is not consistently clear: you say cooperation is best, but also describe competition as necessary at work and school without explaining how these views fit together. Several points remain general or unclear, particularly the claim that competition is “not good” at work and the brief reference to stress and depression in daily life. Develop each view with a clearer explanation and a specific example, then make your overall judgement consistent throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its broad structure. Linking expressions such as “On the other hand,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help signal changes in direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, and the final paragraph repeats points already made before adding another summary beginning “Finally.” Connections between ideas are also unclear—for example, the relationship between cooperation being best and competition being necessary is not resolved. Organise the essay around one paragraph for each view, followed by a concise conclusion, and use clear references and transitions to show how each example supports the main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a basic range of topic vocabulary, including “competition,” “cooperation,” “confidence,” “potential,” and “stress,” which allows you to communicate the main subject. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “achieving the success” and “build the confidence,” but several choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural. Examples include “cooperate with people is giving the fruit,” “every day life,” and “task assign from the manager”; these make some ideas harder to understand. Spelling errors such as “benificial,” “colleages,” and “neccessary” are noticeable. Build a more reliable set of collocations for work and education, and check spelling and word forms before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional example beginning “when you are working in the companies” and a contrast introduced by “Although.” However, the range is limited, and complex attempts are often faulty. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in “competition … was a good thing Other think” and “it makes the pupils more responsible”; articles and plurals are also inconsistent in “when student compete with his fellows.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are frequently unclear, as in the opening, where two ideas run together without a full stop. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete sentence construction, then proofread punctuation so that each idea is clearly separated.
