Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some individuals argue that competition at workplaces, at school and in daily life is a positive thing while others believe that there should be more coordination between people rather than competing with each other. Although developing a competitive environment enables to have skilled and competitive workforce, but I largly believe that people should be in more friendly and cooperating environment becuase that helps them to perform tasks more effectively with team work and with less stress.
Firstly, a competitive environment creates motivation among people to work hard and devote more time improving their skills and becoming the best version of themselves. This is because, this environment helps them to be more productive and beneficial to their company by completing tasks more effecively and in the best way possible. Moreover, it helps companies to hire workers which will benefit more to their business than those who are less competitive. For instance, with the advancements of new technologies, companies now hire more competitive and experience workers so that they can compete with other companies. As a result, developing competitive environment provide companies and schools with better innovative and postive results.
However, when companies or schools provide a friendly or cooperating environment, that helps individuals to work together and perform tasks effectively without taking much pressure of work individually. This is because, when we work as a team with better communication and friendly environment, it helps us to divide our work and perform each task effectively without feeling any pressure of working on each thing alone. This reduces the stress and help individuals to work peacefully and efficiently. For example, in university, a person who is handling a final year project alone will never able to work that much effectively than those will create a group and divide a complete project into chunks of tasks and assign each person a task which they are best in doing it. As a result, this environemnt help them work as a team by reducing stress and compeleting their tasks effectively.
To sum up, Although competitve environment provides dedication and motivation among individuals to perform tasks effectively but i believe that working in a cooperating environment is more effective approach of working rather than competing with each other.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both views and give a clear opinion: competition can motivate people, but cooperation is preferable because it reduces pressure and supports effective teamwork. The body paragraphs are relevant, and the university project example helps illustrate the benefits of cooperation. The discussion of competition is also supported by the point about companies seeking skilled workers, although this focuses more on employers’ benefits than on how competition affects people at school and in daily life. Some claims, such as competition producing “better innovative” results, would benefit from clearer explanation or a specific example. Your position is consistent, but fuller development and more balanced coverage of the settings in the prompt would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding opinion. Sequencing is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “However,” and “To sum up” make the progression explicit. The examples are placed in the relevant paragraphs. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, with repeated “This is because” and “As a result” constructions, and several sentences repeat the same point about working effectively. Some references are also unclear, as in “those will create a group,” where the reader must infer who “those” refers to. To improve, vary linking methods and use precise references while ensuring each sentence adds a distinct step to the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “competitive environment,” “motivation,” “divide our work,” and “reducing stress,” which communicates the main ideas. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “advancements of new technologies” and “final year project.” However, noticeable spelling errors (“largly,” “becuase,” “effecively,” “environemnt”) and inaccurate or awkward collocations reduce precision. Phrases such as “more benefit to their business” and “better innovative and positive results” are not expressed naturally. Repetition of “effectively,” “environment,” and “competitive” also limits flexibility. More accurate collocations and careful proofreading would make your vocabulary more controlled and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “Although,” “when,” and “because,” and the overall meaning remains clear. However, some sentence structures are faulty or incomplete. For example, “enables to have skilled” needs a subject after “enables,” while “a person … will never able to work” is missing “be.” There are also agreement and verb-form errors, as in “this environment help” and “This reduces the stress and help individuals,” and the opening uses “Although … but,” which creates an incorrect construction. Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, particularly in the conclusion. Review sentence patterns, subject–verb agreement, and auxiliary verbs to improve accuracy while retaining your complex structures.
