Student answer (Band 5.0)

Many individuals argue that competition in our daily life such as at work, at school is a good thing. But, others think that we should try to cooperate more instead of competing against each other. I am in the favour of second view because concentration on our own work is become sucess one day, i will discuss both views in upcoming paragraph.

To commence, with first notion that competition in our life is a good thing because it is a way to appericiate to ourself from others. When a children was study in school then they have face many comititors in their class room and they think that they have to learn more to get good score, by which children can learn something in their life. For example, a children whot achived less marks rather than their friend, then have been appriciate their self to do more better in next exam.

On the other hand, moving with B group of people who argue that we should try to cooperate more, rather than competing other because it is very compulsory to concentrate on future and become sucessful person in life. However, it is not possible by competing others. Nowadays, people should do already better in their life but to competing other they should diverted from their own work. So, they can become unsucessful person in their life becaus they always competing others rather than concentration on their own future.

To conclude, although competing ourself with other is better way to appericiate ourself, it is better to concentration our future rather than other because a person who competing their self with other. They always get bad impact on their future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both views and state a preference for cooperation, so the response is relevant to the prompt. The school example also gives some support to the claim that competition can motivate students. However, the position is not consistently clear: the opening says you favour cooperation, while the conclusion describes competing with others as a better way to motivate oneself before returning to cooperation. The reasons for cooperation are also limited and partly unclear; for example, the claim that competition diverts people from their own work needs a more specific explanation or example. Develop each view with a clear reason and show how your examples support your final opinion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the other hand” and “To conclude” help signal these stages. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, and some links are mechanical or unclear. For instance, “moving with B group of people” does not clearly connect the paragraph to the previous one, while the final sentence begins “because” but does not complete a clear explanation. Referencing is also occasionally confusing, as “they” can refer to either students or competitors. Use simpler, more direct links between claims and examples, and ensure each paragraph develops one main point in a clear sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “competition,” “cooperate,” “competitors,” and “future,” and the reader can generally identify the intended subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “appericiate to ourself,” “get good score,” and “become unsucessful person”; these do not express the intended ideas naturally. Repetition of “competing” and “ourself” also limits flexibility. Build a bank of accurate phrases for motivation, achievement, and collaboration, and check spelling and word forms. More precise vocabulary would make your reasons clearer without requiring more complicated ideas.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “because,” “when,” and “although.” However, the range is limited, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur often enough to make some ideas hard to follow. For example, “concentration on our own work is become” has an incorrect verb pattern, and “When a children was study” combines incorrect agreement with an incorrect verb form. The conclusion also contains an incomplete construction: “because a person who competing their self with other.” Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking that each sentence has a complete main clause and consistent subject–verb agreement.
