Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both sides of the question and state a clear preference for cooperation, especially in the introduction and conclusion. The examples from school and the workplace are relevant, and you explain how competition may encourage effort and how cooperation can support problem-solving. However, the ideas are not equally developed: the competition paragraph explains motivation and productivity, while the cooperation paragraph’s examples—such as learning from the IT division—are less clearly connected to the broader claim that cooperation is more valuable. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences of each example in more detail and make your own position more explicit within the body paragraphs, not only at the beginning and end. This would extend the relevant ideas more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion, and the main ideas generally progress in a logical order. Some linking is mechanical, however, with “Therefore” repeated to introduce conclusions in both body paragraphs. There are also places where the connection between sentences is unclear, such as “this skills is advantageous for their career,” which does not clearly identify whose skills are meant or how this supports the paragraph’s main point. Use a wider range of linking methods and make references explicit so that the progression feels smoother and less formulaic.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “productivity,” “abilities,” “promotion,” “share their ideas,” and “solve problems.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both workplace and educational contexts. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are noticeable throughout, including “belive,” “competiton,” “stregnth,” and “performane.” Several phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “at education,” “achieve higher markes than their classmate,” and “complete any projects by having the strong bond.” These issues sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations as complete phrases, such as “in education,” “achieve higher marks,” and “complete projects through effective teamwork.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “While some…” and a sentence explaining that students “may need to study more seriously when they want to achieve higher marks.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, there are some recurring errors in sentence construction and agreement. For example, “While some believe… Others argue…” leaves the first clause incomplete, and “cooperation help people” and “cooperation provide” have subject–verb agreement errors. The conclusion also joins contrasting clauses incorrectly: “although… But…” Use a complete main clause after “while,” check singular and plural subjects, and avoid combining “although” with “but” in the same construction. More accurate control of these patterns would improve clarity.
