Student answer (Band 5.5)

Competition had always happened in order to stand out in your field either it's at work, school or daily life. Some people thought that competition is healthy or a good thing while others disagree their point of view and told that there is no competition between them and should try to cooperate instead of loosing. in my point of view competition should be necessary in order to skillful or best in your field also with out any win and loose condition then no better solutions or improvements should be done in specific field.

One major perspective of people that without any conditional situation people should not show their full potential meanwhile their work remained same. Without any competition no individual growth is gonna done furthermore students or employees do not put their efforts because they know that everyone should be treated same. In cooperate sector no concept of appreciation because everyone in that sector is equal either someone is more capable or not. For Instance: In trust organization there is no concept of bonuses in terms of performance bases because in non profit organaziations every person do their tasks and no one put himself beyond his limits, in result that type of companies have zero growth they just survived on funds.

On the other hand some people have different point of view they thought that due to concept of win and loose condition most of the people those who always got low positions felt disappointed and demotivated. at sometimes due to maximum failed attempts in order to get first or best position people just fed up disbelief their selves in result most of time people face with anxiety, self insecurity and related issues. just take school example: most of the times students just run after good grades in order to impress their parents due to lot of burden students faced at that times, while in result some students failed to achieve dedicated result and faced lot of pressure.

According to my point of view competition is necesary at some extent like do not go beyond the way or put a lot of pressure in order to get dedicated results because in order to grow in specicific field either education or cooporate growth is mendatory principle

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You discuss both perspectives and give a clear, qualified opinion: competition can encourage improvement, but should not create excessive pressure. The workplace example about performance bonuses and the school example about grades are relevant and help explain each side. However, some points are asserted rather than fully developed. For instance, the claim that organisations without competition have “zero growth” is broad, and the link between equal treatment and low effort needs clearer explanation. The opposing view focuses mainly on stress and disappointment, but could also explain how cooperation benefits people or improves outcomes. Develop each argument with a more precise explanation and a specific example to make the discussion more balanced and convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting competition, a paragraph presenting concerns about it, and a concluding opinion. Transitions such as “On the other hand” and “According to my point of view” help signal the direction of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several ideas are joined together without clear links. The first body paragraph moves from individual potential to equal treatment and then to non-profit organisations, with the relationship between these points not always explicit. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, as in “they thought” and “at that times.” Use clearer topic sentences, separate distinct claims, and make the cause-and-effect links between examples and arguments explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “full potential,” “demotivated,” “anxiety,” and “performance,” and these choices show an effort to discuss both benefits and drawbacks. However, the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “people,” “good,” and “field,” while several inaccurate word choices or collocations make meaning less clear. Examples include “loosing” for losing, “performance bases,” “disbelief their selves,” and “dedicated result.” Some spelling errors, including “necesary” and “specicific,” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of topic vocabulary and check collocations and word forms; this will help express ideas without relying on vague or awkward phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including cause-and-effect structures such as “in result” and clauses beginning with “while.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main argument is generally understandable. However, there are some recurring errors in tense, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. For example, “Some people thought” shifts unnecessarily into the past, “no individual growth is gonna done” has an incomplete verb construction, and “students faced” is used where the surrounding sentence calls for a consistent tense. Several sentences run together, particularly in the introduction and final paragraph, and punctuation around examples is inconsistent. Practise building accurate complex sentences and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
