Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, competitipon at work, at school and in daily life is a widely discussed issue. Some people believe that competition at work, at school and i daily life is a good thing, while others believe that we should try to cooperate more, rather that competing against each other. In my opinion, I completely agree with cooperate with each other is more beneficial as compared to the competition. But competition also necessary for the society.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why some people support the view that cooperation is important because it teaches people who to help people and support them in difficult time. When people work together, they can share their ideas with each other and solve the problems easily. When they work together like this then the productivity of the company also increased. For example those students who can study in the groups, they discuse difficulties with each other and they can understand easily. Moreever, too much competition can cause stress and jealousy among people.
On the other hand, it is also agreed that competition has several advantages. It encourge people to work harder and achieve their goals. For instance, studentsa who compete with their classmates may study more to get better marks. Similarly, employes can work more to get permotions and higher salaries. As a reasult, competition give motivation to people for achieve their goals.
In conclusion ,both sides have reasonable points. However, I believe that competition give more motivation to people, while cooperation told who to treat people and support them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You discuss both views and give a preference for cooperation, while also recognising that competition can motivate people. Relevant support includes group study helping students understand difficulties and competition encouraging students and employees to work harder. However, the position is not fully consistent: the introduction says cooperation is more beneficial, but the conclusion emphasises competition’s motivation without clearly reaffirming which approach you ultimately favour. Several points are brief, and the explanation of how cooperation benefits society or workplaces could be developed further. The response is 237 words, 13 words below the required minimum; the 20 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop your examples and make your final opinion explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for cooperation and competition, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help readers identify the two perspectives, and examples generally follow the claims they support. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes repetitive, particularly the repeated “When people work together” phrasing. Some links are awkward or unclear, such as “When they work together like this then,” and the conclusion does not connect clearly to the preference stated in the introduction. Use a wider range of accurate linking and referencing, and ensure each paragraph develops one main point in a clear sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “cooperation,” “productivity,” “stress,” “jealousy,” “motivation,” and “higher salaries.” This gives the response a relevant vocabulary base, but the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors are noticeable. Examples include “competition give motivation,” “cooperate with each other is more beneficial,” and misspellings such as “competitipon,” “discuse,” and “permotions.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause, even though the intended meaning is usually recoverable. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common word partnerships, such as “competition motivates people” and “cooperate with one another,” rather than relying on repeated general words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including clauses beginning with “because,” “when,” and “while.” This shows an effort to explain causes and contrast ideas. However, the range remains limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction. For example, “the productivity of the company also increased” does not fit the surrounding general-present discussion, while “competition give more motivation” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. The sentence “I completely agree with cooperate with each other is more beneficial” is also structurally faulty. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and tense consistency before adding more complex clauses.
