Student answer (Band 5.5)
Every coin has two sides and are of people. People of society are divided into two groups and therefore one group argue that competition is essential in workplace, schools and daily life events. On the contrary, some critics contend that the cooperation is important in each sector. I will discuss both notions in the upcoming paragraphs along with my opinion.
Initiating with the points supporting first school of thought, competition leads to progress and success. To explain it, a thought of compete others leads to promotion and extra bonuses from companies, so every people can remain satisfied with their work and managers. In addition, students achieve desired score and position due to competition against others as they try to achieve better than their competitors. Similarly, in daily lives, there are many events happen that encourage people to stay ahead from others. For instance, politicians, local managements always remained in the sence competition to bring a change in society along with their success. Overall, thoughts of competition among people result promotion, satisfaction and changes.
On the contrasting side, some people are against to compete with others as they want to do progress with their team members. Additionaly, it reduce stress and frustration in life. To elaborate it, collaborations build a smooth performance between people because nobody want to cross each other to complete their personal needs. By this approach, people can work together in their jobs, students learn more efficiently and society remains socialise. Apart from that, people can stay away from jeoulsy and stress like factors. Consequently, everyone can grow with the support of each others.
To conclude, Although competition is important for bringing changes in every aspects of life, collaborations also be needed among people for create a supported environment. I opine that a balanced approach should be taken in the account to make progress and changes effectively.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear personal view: competition can bring progress, while cooperation supports a more supportive environment, and you recommend balance. The workplace, school and daily-life examples are relevant, including promotion and students’ achievement. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the link between competition and “satisfaction” is not fully established, and the reference to politicians and local management is vague. The cooperation paragraph identifies reduced stress and teamwork, but would benefit from a specific example showing how collaboration improves an outcome. Develop each main idea with a clearer explanation or illustration, and make the reasoning behind your balanced opinion more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that states your position. Signposting such as “In addition,” “On the contrasting side,” and “To conclude” helps readers follow the discussion, and the ideas generally progress within each paragraph. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and also shows some stronger control through paragraphing and a range of linking expressions. At times, however, transitions feel formulaic, and connections between claims are not always clear—for instance, the move from competition to politicians is abrupt. Some references, such as “this approach,” could identify more precisely which idea they refer to. Use links to show relationships between ideas, rather than relying mainly on paragraph-opening phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “competition,” “cooperation,” “promotion,” “collaborations,” and “frustration,” so the main ideas are usually understandable. However, the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “people,” “progress,” and “changes,” and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts of the response awkward. Examples include “daily life events,” “stay ahead from others,” and “in the sence competition”; spelling errors such as “Additionaly” and “jeoulsy” also reduce precision. These issues fit a level where vocabulary is minimally adequate but noticeable errors can make the reader work harder. Build a more precise set of phrases for workplace and educational contexts, and check spelling and natural word combinations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “as,” and the overall meaning can generally be followed. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “Every coin has two sides and are of people” has an unclear structure, while “it reduce stress” and “collaborations also be needed” show problems with verb forms. “Although competition is important …, collaborations also be needed” also needs a complete, correctly formed main clause. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected subordinate clause, then check subject–verb agreement and verb forms. Greater accuracy in these patterns would make your ideas easier to read.
