Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent years, few individuals argue that, competition is a good idea to achieve any thing in the life and competition at work place, at primary school and daily life is a best option. However, other people think that, wo should try to work together in comare to competing each other. In this essay I will discuss both the views before giving my own opinion in the following paragraphs with suitable examples.

On the one hand, it is very common concern in a present days in fact it is a good ides to competition in multiple places. Firstly, people can learn so many thing from the competition and it is useful in human life because, when people involve in the competition so, people can give your best in work as well as work hard for win competition. For example, many school arrenge sport competition at campus so, children can join sport competition as a result they can improve their mind and fitness and give best effort to win trophy and it is beneficial for students. Thus, if people faces soo many challengs in their life so, that they can learn soo many thing from the chellenges and become sucessful in their life.

On the other hand, it is also good idea to cooperate more, rather than competing against each other becuase, people learn multiple thing from others and it is useful in their life. Additionally, if people work in community so, work can be finished in very short time. For instance, if people found some error in task so, they can directly help from other person and they can solve problem and it is good idea to increase and expand knowledge. Thus, in community work is a best ides to work any things because, people know about multiple software and other aspects so, it is easy for person.

In conclusion, I think community work is a best idea for work rather than competing each other and people works together and bring happiness and they can distribute the task so, task can be finished in less time. However, in competition people do not help each other because they can work on win the prices or awards and it is not fare options.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the question and state a clear preference for cooperation in the conclusion. The examples about school sports and people helping to solve a work error are relevant, and the response includes reasons such as learning from others and completing tasks faster. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the benefits of competition are mostly described as working harder and improving fitness, while the drawbacks of competition and the conditions in which cooperation works best are not explored. Some claims, such as competition being a “best option,” are also broad and not fully explained. To strengthen the response, develop each view with a specific explanation and example, and make your position clear earlier as well as in the conclusion. The response meets the required length; nine words copied from the task prompt were excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the discussion. Within paragraphs, however, progression is sometimes mechanical, with repeated “Thus” and “so” links, and several sentences join multiple points without showing their precise relationship. For example, the final sentence of the cooperation paragraph moves from community work to software knowledge without a clear transition. References such as “they” and “it” can also be unclear. To improve, organise each paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it, using a wider range of accurate links and clearer references.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “competition,” “cooperate,” “community,” “fitness,” and “knowledge.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “work in community” and “solve problem.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. Examples include “competition is a good idea to achieve any thing,” “work on win the prices,” and repeated use of “multiple thing.” Spelling errors such as “comare,” “arrenge,” and “sucessful” are also noticeable. Build a bank of natural phrases for discussing advantages and disadvantages, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would make your explanations clearer and less repetitive.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “if,” and “as a result,” so there is some variety in structure. The main ideas are generally understandable, but complex sentences are often faulty and errors occur frequently. For example, “people can give your best” has inconsistent pronouns, while “if people faces” and “people works together” have subject–verb agreement errors. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “it is a best idea” and the long sentence beginning “For instance, if people found some error.” Practise building shorter, accurate sentences first, then combine them using subordinate clauses. Check agreement, articles, verb forms, and punctuation during revision so that the reader can follow each point without having to interpret the intended structure.
