Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the question and state a clear preference for cooperation in the conclusion, while also recognising benefits of competition such as motivation, productivity and innovation. These are relevant points, and the examples about employees working towards higher pay and colleagues sharing knowledge help illustrate them. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained: for instance, the link between competition and innovation is not supported with a specific example, and the claim that cooperation produces quick results in every problem is broad and unclear. The opening also spends space announcing that both views will be discussed rather than establishing your own position. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation or a concrete example, and make your opinion evident earlier.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for competition and cooperation, and a conclusion. The progression between the two perspectives is easy to follow, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, several transitions feel formulaic, particularly the repeated use of “As a result” and “Additionally/Furthermore.” Some sentences within paragraphs are also loosely connected, such as the move from sharing knowledge to reducing stress and then building relationships. Use a wider range of linking methods, and make the cause-and-effect relationships between each claim and its supporting detail more explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “productivity,” “motivation,” “innovation,” “teamwork,” and “misunderstanding.” There are also attempts to use more formal expressions, such as “primary and most significant reason.” However, noticeable spelling errors and inaccurate word forms or collocations reduce precision: examples include “competative,” “comapred,” “confidance,” “think creative,” and “quick result in all problem.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “fighting for work to others” and “higher increment.” These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall argument, but they limit the range and control shown. Build a bank of accurate collocations for work and cooperation, and proofread spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast in the introduction and clauses beginning with “When” and “although.” The main ideas generally remain understandable, and the response includes some correctly formed sentences, such as “Both perspectives have valid arguments.” However, some grammatical errors recur in verb agreement, verb forms, and sentence construction. For example, “organization can gets” should use the base verb after “can,” while “they builds” and “it give” do not agree with their subjects. “Every people have” also has an incorrect determiner and noun form. The final sentence joins two independent ideas with only a comma. Review subject–verb agreement, modal verb patterns, and sentence boundaries, while continuing to practise complex clauses.
