Student answer (Band 5.5)
'Time spins, with every spin there is a change'. In earlier times, there was a lack of competiton in society. In modern era, there is very tough competiton at every aspect of human life. It is highly debatable whether it is essential to have a competition in school or work and even in daily life or people should forgot about it and cooperate more to each other. I shall discuss both views in upcoming paragrahs.
The predominant reason why competiton is crucial in school and work or even in life is because it encourage individual to do hardwork with dedication passion because in competition every person wants to be the best and get in top position to get rewards and respect from others. For instance, student in the class study hard to get better marks then others and a worker working hard to get promotion and reward. Moreover, competiton builds discipline and consistency in person because it is a tough task to be best in a aspect and needs a proper discipline and focus on work by removing every distraction. For example, a learner stop hanging out with friends to focus only on studies and worker doing the exact thing.
As' beauty lies in the eyes beholder'. Similarly some commentator opine that the population should cooperate more instead of competing each other. This is because it promotes teamwork and group activity. A good illustration of this is that more ideas and content would come from each person in team if everyone cooperate in one task such as study or work and this would create no discrimination and everyone will get chance to share their opinion. To exemplify this, group of students studying together to solve problems and help each other.
In conclusion, from the aforementioned statement it can be concluded that competiton is better then cooperation due to fact that it will build discipline in perosn which even helpful in further life and apart from this person gets rewards in competiton.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both sides of the question and make your position clear in the conclusion: you favour competition because it can build discipline and bring rewards. The examples about students seeking higher marks and workers aiming for promotion are relevant, and the cooperation paragraph explains how teamwork can generate ideas and give people a chance to contribute. However, the discussion is uneven: the benefits of competition receive more explanation, while the cooperation view is mainly illustrated rather than explored. Some claims, such as competition creating discipline, would be stronger with a clearer explanation of how this happens and when cooperation may be more effective. Develop both perspectives more fully and connect your examples directly to the reasons they support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. This makes the main line of discussion easy to follow. You also use signposting such as “Moreover,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” to show relationships between ideas. At times, however, these links feel mechanical, and some references are unclear—for example, “doing the exact thing” does not specify what the worker is doing. The opening quotation and the transition “As beauty lies in the eyes beholder” do not contribute clearly to the argument and interrupt its progression. Use more direct topic sentences and make each example’s connection to its point explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “teamwork,” “discipline,” “consistency,” “promotion,” and “discrimination.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and you attempt more formal expressions such as “predominant reason” and “aforementioned statement.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural word combinations are noticeable, including “competiton,” “hardwork,” “get in top position,” and “cooperate more to each other.” Some wording is also repetitive, particularly repeated references to competition and “person.” Aim for accurate spelling and natural collocations, and use a wider range of precise terms—for example, “collaborate with one another” and “strive for achievement”—rather than relying on repeated general wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a sentence explaining that teamwork can produce more ideas. The overall meaning is usually understandable, but errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “it encourage individual” needs subject–verb agreement, while “a learner stop” and “worker doing” have incorrect or incomplete verb forms. In “student in the class study hard,” the singular subject also requires a different verb form. Some sentences combine several ideas without clear grammatical control. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and finite verb, and review articles and singular/plural agreement while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
