Student answer (Band 5.0)

There split opinions regarding competition. Some people believe that race at job, childhood study place, and in routine life is a better thing, while another group of thinkers support that we should practice to cooperate together, rather than competing against each other. Both has it own pros and concs. Therefore, before commenting my vire, both the opinions/views must be discussed.

Examining the former view many individual think that challenges at work, study and daily routine is good habbit, the prime reason is if people think in mind someone greeter than me so people work hard and smart so, peoples are growing by self. if Furthermore, if people work too gether so its not competition. This mean that peoples was not growing day by day.For example, The canadian school in 6th std in total number of students 28. In this 1st number student name is riya, and 3rd number student name is jiya. So, jiya was thought about riya. Why riya first in the class and i am third in the class. So jiys think about riya and next class in jiya think i work hard and smart in study. Then i will recieve 1st rank in next standard. Moreover, we will be thinking about student future if all students get same and good marks. So,some students do it hard work but some student not do hard work.Because they thinking we are all get good and similar marks so why we study hard?

On the contrary, the latter view suggest that work and study together because grow similar no competition no tension, not work hard.Additionally, job in people thin work together and increase knowledge together.

Finally, in my opinion, i firmly support the competion in work, study, job is too good thing. To conclude, there are many supporters of cooperate with job, study but my arguments prove that competition is better then cooperation is the appropriate way to deal with the situation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall preference for competition, especially in the conclusion, and you attempt to discuss both sides. The example of students comparing their class positions is relevant to the claim that competition can motivate people to work harder. However, the discussion is uneven: the case for cooperation is only briefly stated as working together and sharing knowledge, with little explanation or example. The competition argument also relies heavily on one classroom illustration, and some claims—such as cooperation meaning people do not grow—are asserted rather than explained. Your position is present, but it would be clearer if stated directly in the introduction and maintained consistently. Develop both views with specific reasons and support before reaching your conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an introduction, a longer paragraph about competition, a paragraph about cooperation, and a conclusion, so the reader can identify the broad structure. You also use signposts such as “Examining the former view,” “On the contrary,” and “Finally.” However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow, particularly in the extended classroom example, where the sequence of students’ thoughts and outcomes is unclear. Several linking expressions are awkward or do not show the intended relationship, and ideas sometimes run together without clear sentence boundaries. The cooperation paragraph is very short and does not balance the development of the first view. Organise each body paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it in a clear sequence, using references that make it obvious who or what each sentence concerns.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “competition,” “cooperate,” “challenges,” “knowledge,” and “work hard,” and you attempt to express ideas about motivation and achievement. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning unclear, such as “race at job,” “greeter than me,” and “grow similar.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “habbit,” “concs,” “vire,” and “competion.” Repetition of “work,” “study,” and “good” further limits precision. Build a topic vocabulary set and check that each phrase is natural in context; for example, use “competition in the workplace” rather than “race at job.” More accurate collocations would make your arguments easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including conditional forms such as “if people think… someone greater than me” and a question within the example. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction make parts difficult to follow. For instance, “Both has it own pros” needs plural agreement and possessive forms, while “the latter view suggest” has a subject–verb agreement error. The student example also shifts between past and present forms, making the sequence unclear. Punctuation and spacing around commas and full stops are inconsistent, and some sentences are joined in ways that obscure their structure. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking agreement and tense consistency.
