Student answer (Band 5.5)

Sevarel People had opinion Regarding competition In our culture Like in our work, Education departments and and in Our routine life Is Benificary for our self on the other hand People thing we have to cooperate Alot with everyone Instead of Challenging our doing competition With peoples who are surroundings.

Every Person has its own presception, According to my observation I beleive Both options are reliable and best. But competition culture hold very strong position in my point of view. In this way every one get motivated with there tasks In buisnesess, School and in our daily life. This help us to Get our daily task complete Asap and gave us teh reason to so something. Lets suppouse if you are working in a compny and you are not competing with your Team so you will left very behind and cant fulfil your JD. and after some time you feel your self very low and consider your self week and liability in the office after soem time you get fired. Same goes for education if you dont compete your self with other sop you dont get any reason for hardworking and you will be a average or below average student.

In addition, cooperating With Your team memebrs, Class mates and Neighbours Is a very good step you are being there helping hand But if you help them in every situation and cooperate with them alot this thing leads them to Weekness and useless. After sometime they cant do anything by themslef they are depended on other and always seeking for help instead of doing little bit hardwork. But Helping sometime is a good for you and other person as well.

I conclude this doing a competition Is way better then cooperating with peoples who are surroundings to you.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the discussion and state a preference for competition, especially in the sentence, “competition culture hold very strong position in my point of view.” The workplace and education examples are relevant, and you also acknowledge that helping others can be beneficial. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the cooperation paragraph mainly warns that too much help creates dependence, rather than explaining the positive case for cooperation in a balanced way. Some claims, such as a worker being fired for not competing, are presented as certain without support. To strengthen the response, explain the benefits of cooperation—such as shared problem-solving—and clarify when cooperation may be more effective than competition.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph focused mainly on competition, a paragraph on cooperation, and a conclusion. This gives the reader a basic route through your ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several points are joined into long sequences, and links such as “In addition” do not always show the precise relationship between ideas. The conclusion also repeats your preference without drawing together the discussion. Use clearer topic sentences, divide the workplace and education examples into more manageable steps, and make each paragraph’s central point explicit. More accurate referencing and transitions would help the argument feel connected rather than like a list of claims.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “motivated,” “cooperate,” “hardworking,” and “dependent,” and the reader can generally identify your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the message harder to understand. Examples include “competition culture hold very strong position,” “fulfil your JD,” and “a average or below average student.” Spelling and word-form errors such as “beleive,” “presception,” and “Weekness” are also noticeable. Build a more precise set of phrases for discussing workplace and educational outcomes, and check spelling and collocations carefully. Prefer clear, natural expressions over informal or unclear abbreviations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with clauses, for example the sequence beginning “if you are working in a compny.” This shows an effort to explain cause and effect, but complex sentences are often difficult to control, and errors occur frequently enough to interrupt reading. Subject–verb agreement is inconsistent (“competition culture hold”), as are pronouns and verb forms (“every one get motivated,” “this thing leads them”). Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also unreliable, particularly where several ideas run together. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea and a clearly attached supporting clause. Check agreement, articles, and consistent verb forms, then use full stops to separate complete thoughts.
