Student answer (Band 5.5)

Several ideas are roaming across multitudes regarding race or competition to out perform from one another. A side narrates the view of competition and self sustrained image at numerious roles in everyday life for instance at school or job as beneficial. But, the opposition claims help out, lookafter, coorperate are much more crucial than fighting over.

The individuals of the first view believes, the feeling of urge to get ahead of everyone keep folks motivated and energatic to out perfrom at any type of roles they are bound to act. In addition, It is like a fest to play and win. Moreover, this sort of feeling spikes the adrinaline hormone to make one obsessed to the task.

On the other side, critics come with other thought of courtacy and human friendly envirnment at educational centers or emplyee bases. Where every single one of members can thrive evenly, growing prosperous mutually. This view offers a sight of brotherhood in routine living.

The conclution I come up with is that both school of thought have their own pros and cons. If I talk about the first view. It comes with motivation and intense sense of achieving something but it can harm other as well. For someone who believes his job is like a game and no matter what he have to win anyway. This person might end up harming his compititor just the get rid of him. But, other view talks about human values and strong emotional support for the whole community. It might irredicate the urge to get better on certain level. If people are extremely supportive one might lose the ability to rise from a distressful situation on their own. That is why, we should be moderate about our emotions. We should be competing but, without getting someone hurt. and be supportive to other but also let multitudes shine with their own abilities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both competition and cooperation and give a personal conclusion: competition can motivate people, while cooperation offers emotional support. The example of someone treating work as a game and potentially harming a competitor also gives one point some explanation. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The benefits of competition are described mainly as motivation and excitement, while the cooperation paragraph relies on broad ideas such as “brotherhood” and people thriving “evenly,” without a concrete example or clear explanation of how cooperation works in practice. Your final position—being competitive without hurting others and supportive while allowing individual achievement—is relevant, but could be stated more directly and supported with a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the other side” and “That is why” help signal changes in direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, and several ideas are presented as loosely connected claims rather than developed explanations. For example, the link between competition, adrenaline, and becoming “obsessed to the task” is not made clear. The conclusion also shifts between several points and ends with a long, loosely joined recommendation. Some linking phrases are repetitive or awkwardly placed. Organise each body paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it before moving to the next point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “motivated,” “emotional support,” “prosperous,” and “distressful situation.” However, word choice, spelling, and collocation errors are frequent enough to make some ideas difficult to interpret. Examples include “self sustrained image,” “numerious roles,” “courtacy,” and “irredicate”; several appear to be misspellings or inaccurate choices. Phrases such as “a fest to play and win” and “employee bases” are also unclear or unnatural in this context. This limits the precision and flexibility of your vocabulary, even though the intended topic is generally recognisable. Focus on accurate, natural combinations such as “a competitive environment,” “mutual support,” and “strive to succeed,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “If people are extremely supportive, one might lose the ability…” and a relative clause beginning “For someone who believes…”. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries sometimes make the meaning hard to follow. For example, “The individuals of the first view believes” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “no matter what he have to win” has an incorrect verb form. “Where every single one of members can thrive” is an incomplete sentence and is missing a determiner. Improve control by checking each sentence for a clear subject and main verb, and use full stops rather than joining several independent ideas with commas.
