Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this comtemporary era competition is increasing in different feild of life. Students and working profestionals also experience compitition in dialy tasks, which is encouraging indivituals to work more effectivly to achieve personal goals. while coorperation also motivates indivituals to work togather and achieve collective goals. I believe working in a competative envrionment can be more beneifical for students and employees to push their limits.

There are numeruos advantages of working in a competative envrionemnt for students and , it will motivate students to work more hard to achieve possitions ,awards rather then just being an average student. Competition will also encourage students to learn more new skills to surpass other students in new technonlogical fields. Competition in workplace can also be benefical for employees, it will made them work more on their personals goals and skill which will help the overall coorporation. for example it the business is working on a project ans employees are assigned with personalized tasks on which which they will be rewarded then they will take it as a competition and work in a productive way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You state a clear preference for competition, saying it can help students and employees “push their limits,” and you give relevant points about motivation, skills and workplace productivity. However, the task asks you to discuss both competition and cooperation, but cooperation is only mentioned briefly in the introduction and is not explained or supported. Your position is therefore only partly developed, and the workplace example is difficult to follow. The response also contains 180 words, below the required 250, which limits how fully you can address the question. To improve, add a developed paragraph explaining how cooperation benefits people, then support both sides with clear examples and explain why you ultimately favour one approach.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction followed by a paragraph about competition, and the ideas generally relate to the topic. Linking expressions such as “while” and “for example” show an attempt to connect points. However, there is no clear progression through both sides of the discussion, since cooperation is not developed beyond the opening. Some connections are also unclear: the example beginning “for example it the business…” is hard to follow, and several ideas are joined in long sentences without clear punctuation. Plan separate body paragraphs for competition and cooperation, then use a concluding paragraph to restate your view. Clearer sentence boundaries and more precise referencing would make the organisation easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “competition,” “collective goals,” “personal goals,” “skills” and “productive,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several words are repeated, particularly “competition,” “students” and “work.” Numerous spelling errors—such as “comtemporary,” “feild,” “compitition” and “coorperation”—make the writing less clear and can distract the reader. There are also inaccurate word combinations, for example “work more hard” and “learn more new skills.” Build a wider set of accurate expressions for both sides of the topic, and proofread spelling and collocations carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you explain the effects of competition and cooperation rather than relying on repeated general terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a sentence with “which” to explain the effect of competition. However, the range remains limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement and punctuation. For example, “Competition in workplace can also be benefical for employees, it will made them work…” joins two independent clauses with a comma and uses an incorrect verb form. The opening also begins “while coorperation…” as a sentence fragment, and “they will take it as a competition” has an unclear reference. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea each, and check articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries. This will make your meaning more consistently clear.
