Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You identify both sides of the discussion: competition may increase work experience and expose people to new things, while cooperation may prevent people from becoming divided and avoiding conversation. These points are relevant, but they are only briefly stated, and the response does not explain how either approach benefits people or provide the requested example. Your own opinion is also not clearly given; “firstly i want to go with the given instructions” does not establish which view you support. The response is substantially below the required 250 words, so the task is only minimally addressed. To improve, state your position directly, develop each view with reasons and examples, and write a complete essay that covers every part of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic sequence: it introduces the argument for competition and then moves to cooperation using “and second.” This gives the reader some sense of the two views being discussed. However, the ideas are presented in one continuous block, with no clear introduction, developed body paragraphs, or conclusion. The repeated framing “narrator want to say” also makes the progression awkward, and the relationship between the claims is not fully explained. Organise the essay into paragraphs, use clear topic sentences, and connect each reason to its explanation or example. A concluding sentence should summarise your position so the discussion has a clear overall direction.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a small set of relevant terms, including “compete,” “cooperate,” “working experience,” and “new things,” so the main topic is generally understandable. However, the vocabulary is basic and some expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “go with the given instructions” and “we stand a wall between us.” Spelling and word-form errors, including “experince” and “tha,” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range for discussing the topic—for example, language about motivation, collaboration, skills, and relationships—and check spelling carefully. More natural collocations would help you express the same ideas clearly and appropriately for an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to express reasons and contrast the two positions, including a conditional structure in “if we compete with others.” However, sentence structures are mostly simple or awkwardly joined, and errors in basic grammar and punctuation occur throughout. For example, “if we compete with each other we stand a wall” needs clearer sentence construction and punctuation, while “we did nt talk to each others” has problems with the verb form and plural agreement. Capitalisation is also inconsistent, as the response begins with lowercase “firstly.” Practise forming complete sentences with accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb forms. Use full stops to separate ideas and try a wider range of controlled complex sentences.
