Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often debated whether it is better to competition at different sectors like work, school and in daily life or trying to involve in cooperation. This essay discuss both the views before my perspective.
To begin with, people favored the idea that competition at work, at school and in daily life is good due to several reasons. One of the prominent factors is boost confident. Explaining it, participating in competition create lots of experience about numerous situations which built confidence and provide more success. Likewise, encouragement in participants is another reason to support this view. To elaborate it, people are more encouraged to the winning and defeated opposite opponents which encourages in involving. For instance, organaised competition in any sector and people participate towards their attitude of winning.
On the other hand, many individuals supporting more cooperation than competting because of numerous aspects. Realising weakness is one of the major aspects. To explain it, in cooperation there are group of people and when you are collaborate with then you realise your mistakes and increases the ability to correct mistakes. Similarly, better bonding is achived by cooperation. To add further, in the group of people there are many objects to talk about, interact about and coordination about which create stronger bonding between each other.
To sum up, boost confident and encouragement in involving is the main reasons that people think competition is beneficial while others think cooperation promote more benefits because it helps to create bonding and realising mistakes.Regarding my perspective, both competition and cooperating is essential. However, competition is better because it create attitude towards defeating and create more confident in achiving goals.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the question and state a personal view: competition is preferable, although both approaches are useful. The response gives relevant reasons, including confidence and motivation for competition, and learning from mistakes and building relationships through cooperation. However, these points are mostly asserted rather than explained with clear, specific support. The example about an organised competition is vague and does not show how competition produces the claimed benefits. Your position also appears only at the end, so it is not consistently clear as the discussion develops. To strengthen the response, explain each main reason through a concrete example and make your preference clear in the introduction as well as the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “To sum up” help readers follow the shift between ideas, and the discussion proceeds in a sensible order. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, several links feel mechanical, and the reasoning within paragraphs does not always progress smoothly: for example, the sentence about “winning and defeated opposite opponents” is difficult to connect to the point about encouragement. The conclusion also repeats earlier points rather than drawing them together. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and make references such as “this view” or “it” unmistakably clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “competition,” “cooperation,” “confidence,” “mistakes,” and “bonding.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, word-form, and spelling errors make parts of the response difficult to interpret. Examples include “boost confident,” “encouraged to the winning,” “defeating,” and “achiving.” Some phrases, such as “many objects to talk about,” do not express the intended idea clearly. Aim to learn vocabulary in natural combinations and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise expressions for motivation, teamwork, and personal development would help you explain your arguments without relying on repeated general terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including explanations introduced by “To explain it” and “To elaborate it.” Nevertheless, control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “This essay discuss” needs subject–verb agreement, while “participating in competition create” has both an article and a verb-form problem. In “when you are collaborate with then,” the clause structure is faulty, and “both competition and cooperating is essential” has an agreement and parallel-structure issue. Practise building accurate sentences around one clear subject and verb, then add subordinate clauses only when their structure is secure. Proofread specifically for agreement and complete, well-formed clauses.
