Student answer (Band 5.5)

There is a controversy about counterparts. Some individuals argue competition in daily life is benefical for us. Whereas, others maintain we should understand the things more, rather than comparisom with each other. Although competition in everthing makes or goal clear, From my perspective, compromise makes our bound strong with others.

On the one hand, many people make comparison with each other at school, at work and in their daily life it is benefical for them because healthly competitions help to focus on their goals and they never be distracked. Furthermore, in schools mostly teachers give award to their brightest student this thing motivate other pupils to get good marks from other to get award. For example, in Pakistan, every industry compete with eachother which helps to focus on their growing which is vital for developing countries and make people more productive.

On the other hand, I believe life is too hard if we make comparison with eachother in everything. Mostly people feel anxious because they want every thing perfect in thier lifes. For instance, people who do not celebrate their own achievements and cocern about others accomplishments as a result, they may suffer from depression. In addition, to compensate in some situation relax human beings mind because everytime comparison may feel jealous from others.

In conclusion, there is an ongoing debates about competitions. Making comparison is beneficial in some situation ought to it helps to focus on more their career and activities. In my opinion, some time make compromise is crucial for human being lifes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both sides and state a personal view: competition can clarify goals, while comparison may cause anxiety, and cooperation is presented as beneficial. The school-award example gives some support to the competition argument. However, the response only partially develops the task. The second view is described mainly as avoiding comparison and making “compromise,” rather than explaining how cooperation works or why it benefits people at work, school, or in daily life. Your position also shifts between “compromise” and “cooperation,” so the central opinion is not fully clear. Develop each side with a specific explanation and example, then state consistently whether cooperation should generally take priority or whether both approaches have a role.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad structure. Within paragraphs, however, the progression is sometimes difficult to track. For example, the Pakistan industry example follows a point about school awards without a clear link, and the sentence beginning “For instance, people who do not celebrate…” is not grammatically complete, making its relationship to the preceding idea unclear. Some linking phrases, such as “In addition,” introduce ideas that are not fully explained. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the claim it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “productive,” “accomplishments,” “anxious,” and “depression,” and you use some variation rather than relying on only one term. However, word choice and spelling errors are noticeable and sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. “Counterparts” does not express the idea of competition, while “comparisom,” “benefical,” “distracked,” and “cocern” are misspelled. Several phrases are also unnatural, such as “make comparison with each other” and “compromise makes our bound strong.” Build a more accurate set of topic collocations—for example, “compete with one another,” “cooperate with colleagues,” and “strengthen relationships”—and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “Although” and a reason introduced by “because.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences hard to interpret. For example, “Although competition in everthing makes or goal clear, From my perspective…” joins an unfinished clause to a new sentence incorrectly. In “many people make comparison… it is beneficial,” two clauses are joined without suitable punctuation or a connector. There are also problems with agreement and verb forms, as in “they never be distracted” and “this thing motivate.” Practise constructing complete clauses, maintaining subject–verb agreement, and using punctuation to separate or connect ideas accurately.
