Student answer (Band 5.5)
Few people believe that competition on work is more better, while other thinks that cooperation is important part of life and working together is more beneficial . In my opinion both competition and cooperating have different advantages and cooperation or working together is more better .
People thinks that now a days , competition is more important . Like competition at school help kids to learn more and make them more independent while at work place competition helps to finish different type of organization task more early . Competition also have some positive aspects in daily life . Likewise , in sport group of player plays together to win the game and for this they do hard work for being more better than the other ones .
On the other hand , cooperation among each other is also beneficial . In school when different type of students stucked in solving question so that time if the good one cooperate with them so that they can easily solve their question . Also in the worklife when one employee wants to take off because of sickness from the work so by the cooperation of others employee can easily take rest at home. For instance , when one of the family memeber is sick and needs some bed rest and also wants someone to help her in home chores so by the cooperation of others members it easily to manage the things .
In my opinion both the competition and cooperation is beneficial for the daily life as well as in schools and business . With the competition people will able to perform any task in time and with the concept of working together they can finish task together .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both competition and cooperation and give a personal view, so the response is relevant to the full task. The examples about students helping classmates, colleagues covering for a sick employee, and family members sharing care make the cooperation side understandable. However, the discussion is only partially developed: the benefits of competition are asserted rather than explained in depth, and the final opinion shifts from saying cooperation is “more better” to saying both are beneficial without clearly ranking them. To strengthen the response, state one consistent position in the introduction and conclusion, then explain how each example demonstrates a specific benefit or limitation of competition and cooperation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding opinion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several points are joined mechanically with “Like,” “while,” “Also,” and “For instance.” The examples sometimes feel loosely connected to the claim—for example, the sports example describes teamwork, so it does not clearly illustrate competition. Some references, such as “they” and “the good one,” are also unclear. Use topic sentences that directly state each paragraph’s main point, connect examples explicitly to that point, and vary linking methods while making references precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “competition,” “cooperation,” “independent,” and “beneficial.” However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, particularly “working together” and “more better.” There are also noticeable word-choice and collocation problems, such as “competition on work,” “finish different type of organization task more early,” and “take off because of sickness from the work.” These expressions can make the intended meaning less natural or less precise. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for workplace and educational contexts, and check collocations when describing tasks, absence, and performance. More precise vocabulary would make the examples clearer and the argument more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences using clauses with “while,” “when,” and “because,” but these structures are often faulty, and the range remains limited. Errors occur frequently in agreement and verb forms: “People thinks,” “competition … help,” and “one employee wants to take off” do not maintain accurate grammatical patterns. Articles, plurals, and sentence construction also need attention, as in “cooperation is important part” and “different type of students stucked.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although the overall meaning is usually recoverable. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them into longer sentences, checking subject–verb agreement, past participles, articles, and plural forms.
