Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some individual believe that competition at work and school is good things it motivate you to compete. While some people believe everyone should try to cooperate more rather than just competing against each other. From my prespective competition exerts a profound influenece on your development and motivates you to improve your life.
On the one hand, Some members of society believes that we should try to be cooperative more rather than competing against each other because in their prespective, other people may get jealous which negatively impact their personality. One primary reason could be that it cause pressure on some individuals to achieve all what other does. Comparision is adventageous if it is not used to pressurised some one to make them feel low so they will loose all hopes and will consider their selfes less then others.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both perspectives and give a clear preference for competition, especially in the introduction and conclusion. The example of being inspired by an IT developer also helps connect competition with personal goals. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the cooperation paragraph focuses mainly on jealousy and pressure, rather than explaining the positive value of cooperation, such as sharing skills or achieving shared goals. The competition paragraph also shifts between competition and learning from a senior colleague, which is closer to cooperation or mentorship. Develop each view with a more direct explanation and a relevant example, then make your position consistent throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs signposted with “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This gives the reader a basic structure and makes the two viewpoints easy to identify. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first body paragraph moves from cooperation to jealousy and then comparison, while the second combines workplace learning, motivation, and a personal example without clearly linking each point. Some connections are also abrupt, such as the sentence beginning “Motivates you.” Use complete, logically connected sentences and make each paragraph develop one central idea, with linking phrases that show how the example supports it.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt some topic-related and less common vocabulary, including “profound influence,” “comfort zone,” “inspired,” and “beneficial influence.” These choices show an effort to express ideas beyond basic vocabulary. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choice are noticeable and sometimes make the message harder to follow: examples include “prespective,” “Comparision,” “adventageous,” and “invaluable” where the intended meaning may be unclear. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “cooperative more” and “make them feel low.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations for discussing competition, pressure, and teamwork. Prefer precise, natural expressions over ambitious wording that does not fit the intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a conditional structure in “if it is not used to…”. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “Some individual believe” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “Motivates you to work hard” is a sentence fragment. The opening also joins two independent ideas without clear punctuation. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and article use. Shorter, accurate sentences will help you communicate your ideas before you attempt more complex structures.
