Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is mainly argued that competition at workplace, at school and in daily life is a good thing, while other believe that we should try to assists them, rather than competing against each other. I partically argeed with this view because competition is a health thing, but a lot of rivalary might has a negative impacts, so rather than competing we should try to cope with them which improve their skills and communication level.
On the one hand, competing at work is a positive thing, which help individuals to work hard, and increases their productive, whereas it enhance people knowledge. Moreover, in schools, it assits students to study hard to increase their grades, taking part in different competition facilitate participants, such as taking part in debates boost their knowledge and communication skills.
On the other hand, people think that we shoud try to support them, rather than competing, such as at workplace we should cooperate with individuals, we should build team in which different people share their ideas and abilities, that reduces sress level and enhance their productivity and technologies

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both sides by describing competition as a way to encourage effort and cooperation as a way to share ideas and reduce stress. However, the response is incomplete: the final paragraph ends abruptly, and your own position is only briefly stated in the opening. The claim that competition is healthy but excessive rivalry is harmful could form a clear, balanced opinion, but it needs explanation and a relevant example. The response contains 170 words, below the required 250; the 10 words copied from the prompt are not counted. This limits how fully you can discuss both views and support your ideas. Develop each side with specific reasoning and examples, then conclude by restating your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction followed by a paragraph on competition and one on cooperation. Linking phrases such as “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the contrast. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are joined into long, unclear sequences. For example, the sentence beginning “Moreover, in schools” moves from studying hard to grades and then debates without clearly explaining the connections. The final paragraph also stops mid-thought, leaving the discussion without a conclusion. Use one main point per paragraph, explain how each example supports it, and add a concluding paragraph. Clearer sentence boundaries and references would make the organisation easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “competition,” “cooperate,” “share their ideas,” “communication skills,” and “productivity.” These choices make the general subject understandable. However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to interpret, such as “a health thing,” “cope with them,” and “enhance their productivity and technologies.” Spelling errors, including “partically,” “rivalary,” and “sress,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise expressions that distinguish healthy competition from excessive rivalry and describe cooperation naturally. Proofreading for spelling and checking whether verbs and nouns combine idiomatically will improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to combine ideas using clauses and connectors, for example, “while other believe…” and “which help individuals…,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and verb forms occur in “other believe,” “which help,” and “a lot of rivalary might has.” There are also problems with infinitives and sentence construction in “we should try to assists them,” while the long sentence about workplace competition contains several clauses that are not clearly separated. These errors sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, modal verb patterns (a modal takes the base form), and punctuation between independent clauses. Shorter, controlled sentences alongside a few accurate complex structures would strengthen the response.
