Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many people believe that competition at work or at school is a good thing while many argue that we must always try to help each other more during their difficult time at their study, work place or in daily life. While competition is ofcourse essential i strongly agree with those who believe we should try to cooperate more.
It is widely believe that the environment at work, school place or in regular days should be competitative. They believe that it helps us to boost our confidence. They believe that by having some sort of competition, they can get a chance to present themselves a better and more hard working person than any other at their working environment. In schools, students can compete with their peers and can get good grades while it shows their intelligence. For instance, if an employe works hard and have a strict competition with their collegues, they will get a chance to be promoted to a higher post while a student can win a scholarship by having same menality.
On the flip side there is a common belief, that we should try to cooperate more. This group of people argue that in our wokring place we should be helpful and if an employe needs our help we should be available to help them. Many people think that our offices or schools should not be a place for competition, rather it should be a place where everone feels comfortable with us. Such as, by cooperating more, we can create a peaceful environment at our work, at school or in our daily life; in addition it can bring peace and stability to us too.
To sum up, i strongly believe that cooperating more with each other outweighs the competition at work, at school or in daily life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear opinion: “I strongly agree” that people should cooperate more, and your conclusion reinforces this position. The competition paragraph gives relevant reasons, including confidence, promotion and scholarships, while the cooperation paragraph explains how helping others can create a more peaceful environment. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the link between competition and confidence is not illustrated, and the claim that cooperation brings “peace and stability to us” remains general. Your own view is clear, but it would be stronger if you explained when competition is useful and why cooperation should take priority overall, supported by a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The progression from competition to cooperation is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the flip side” and “To sum up” help readers recognise the stages of the argument. This meets the lower-band expectations and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, connections between individual claims are sometimes mechanical or unclear. Repeated openings such as “They believe” and “Many people think” make the discussion feel list-like, while “Such as” does not connect smoothly to the preceding sentence. Use clearer links that show cause and effect, and develop each paragraph around a central claim with supporting explanation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “competition,” “cooperate,” “confidence,” “promoted” and “scholarship.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “peaceful environment” and “higher post.” However, the range is limited by repetition of “work,” “school,” “believe” and “competition,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate. For example, “strict competition” and “same mentality” do not express the intended ideas naturally, while “regular days” is an awkward way to refer to daily life. Spelling errors such as “competitative,” “collegues” and “wokring” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of natural collocations for discussing workplace and educational settings.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “While competition…” and a conditional sentence with “if an employe needs our help.” The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. Examples include “It is widely believe” instead of “It is widely believed,” “an employe works hard and have” instead of “has,” and “a place where everone feels comfortable with us,” where the pronoun reference is unclear. Capitalisation is also inconsistent, as in “i” and “ofcourse” at the start of the essay. Review subject–verb agreement, passive forms, articles and sentence punctuation. More consistently accurate complex sentences would make your argument easier to read.
