Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many Individuals assume that rivalry at work, at school and in everyday life is a outstanding thing. While other will attempt to cooperate more, rather than competing opposed to each other.

On one hand, competing with others can be very much important in working section because it provides some benefits like task completion before other person. But this can create some jealousy towards the individual who is working ahead of them to get promoted in to higher position. For example, if a group of students is doing great in class test by coparing each others strength and weakness the other group will take notice of that and will attempt to recreate the same atmosphere between themselves.

On the other hand, working together in a same space will help us solve the isuues at hand with ease. Also we can then take a note to try and do better as a team rather than being stuck in some tasks that will require the service of other. Sharing knowledge among ourselves will be the first step to build trust and doing various work will consume less time by cooperating. For example if a working machine suddenly stops working then you will need the assist of you collegue to get it fix because you only have a small amount of idea about this.

In my opinion, I think both the ideas are practicle in the working field or in everday life. Because they give us an insight to improve ouselfs in the long format of life.

Conclusion, admiration can be have very much positive effect to do better against one another in all aspects of everyday life. Cooperation can impact the workforce growth in exceptional way

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the discussion and give an opinion, so the response is relevant to the prompt. The paragraphs on competition and cooperation each include a reason and an example, such as students comparing strengths and colleagues helping repair a machine. However, the ideas are only partly developed: the competition example is difficult to follow, and the benefits and drawbacks are not clearly explained in depth. Your position is also unclear because “both the ideas are practical” does not show which approach you favour or how you balance them. The conclusion mentions positive effects but does not clearly restate your view. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation and make your opinion consistent from the introduction to the conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an opening, separate paragraphs for competition and cooperation, an opinion, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In my opinion” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly in the example about student groups, where the relationship between the groups’ actions is unclear. The opening sentence beginning “While other…” is a fragment, and the final paragraph does not connect smoothly to the opinion paragraph. Some linking is mechanical, with repeated “Also” and “For example.” Use complete topic sentences, clarify how each example supports its point, and link the opinion and conclusion more directly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “rivalry,” “cooperate,” “jealousy,” “sharing knowledge,” and “build trust.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both competition and teamwork. However, the range and control are limited, and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make meaning less clear. For example, “working section,” “competing opposed to each other,” and “admiration” in the conclusion do not express the intended ideas naturally. There are also spelling errors such as “isuues,” “practicle,” and “everday.” Aim for precise, natural combinations and check spelling carefully; for instance, use “workplace” rather than “working section” and “cooperation” rather than “admiration” where appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and use clauses with “because,” “if,” and “rather than,” showing an effort to vary sentence structure. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty; errors can make parts of the response difficult to interpret. For example, “While other will attempt…” is an incomplete sentence, while “if a group … is doing … the other group will take notice” has unclear sentence relationships. There are also recurring problems with articles, agreement, and verb forms, as in “in a same space,” “the assist of you collegue,” and “can be have.” Practise building accurate complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking subject–verb agreement and verb patterns.
