Student answer (Band 5.5)
Thesedays, the range of competition is very wide and every students wants good and healthy competition with their friend in routine life and thinks it is beneficial for growth. While other individual believe that co exentience and sharing information are more important in comparison to rivalry.I partially agree with competition and cooperation becasue we wants both in everyday work.In this essay we dsiscussed both side.
To commense with, the younger generation wants competition because they thought that rivalry help us to stay consistent. For example, the topper of class fight for position in the school they don't tell their secret to other.Futhermore,at work every employer of today generation wish for promotion and make this a healthy competition with another. However,in our daily routine we also continue competition with our relatives and cousin to grow futher. But sometimes competitons gives us certain drawbacks which is not good at all such as,fighting and bullying and choose a wrong pathway to reach the goal.
On the flip side, some individuals might thought that group learning and cooperation enchance your ideas and improve your communication skill with other person. In addtion, the cooperation helps us in every feilds of lives such as,studying, project management and in routine live. However, it also has certain disadvantage it slow the crictical thinking of person and also demotivate him.
In conclusion,if competition grows with th right path way it helps people to grows futher also cooperation are beneficail for people who create something and also improve their communication skill. In my opinion, i think both are necessary in our daily lives

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the question and give a personal view, stating that you “partially agree” and later that both competition and cooperation are necessary. Relevant points include competition encouraging people to work towards promotion and cooperation supporting learning and communication. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the examples about classmates withholding secrets and competing with relatives are brief, and the disadvantages of cooperation are asserted rather than explained. Your position is also not fully consistent, since “partially agree” is not clearly connected to the conclusion that both approaches are necessary. Explain when each approach is most useful and support the claims with a specific example to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for competition and cooperation, and a conclusion. This helps readers identify the two views. You also use signposts such as “To commence with,” “On the flip side,” and “In conclusion.” However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and linking words can create confusing relationships. For example, “However” introduces drawbacks after the competition examples, but the connection between these points is not developed. The conclusion repeats earlier claims rather than bringing them together into a precise final position. Organise each body paragraph around one main idea, then explain and illustrate it; use fewer, more accurate transitions and clearer references to connect sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “rivalry,” “promotion,” “cooperation,” “communication skill,” and “critical thinking.” These choices show some awareness of the subject, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which can make meaning less clear. Examples include “co exentience,” “fight for position,” “wrong pathway,” and “cooperation are beneficial.” Spelling errors such as “Futhermore,” “enchance,” and “beneficail” are also noticeable. Build a bank of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and word forms carefully. Prefer natural combinations such as “compete for a position,” “pursue goals,” and “work collaboratively,” rather than translating phrases directly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and attempts at longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “such as.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. Agreement errors appear in “every students wants” and “cooperation are beneficial”; verb forms are also inaccurate in “rivalry help us” and “some individuals might thought.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation need attention: the opening runs several ideas together, while commas are often missing after introductory phrases. These errors recur and sometimes make the relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, modal verb patterns (“might think”), and sentence boundaries, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and main verb.
