Student answer (Band 5.5)

Now a days people try to compete at every other person and some people believe it is good to have competion which encourage the person to work hard but on other hand some people say we may helped to each other rather than competing with others. I will explain both views then then give my own opinion.

To beggin with, some people say in all works we have competion which encourage the person to work hard and became more successful. For example, we see in schools different students are trying to compete with others and for this they work hard. In addition, competion also helpfull for local people like when different companies comes in competion and try to make their things more valueable is beneficial for buyers. When one conpany make a more valueable thing then others companies also drop the prices of their items to stay in the market. Furthermore, when buisnessman try to compete to other and grow their buisness is also good for economy of country.

On the other hand, other people believe we just stay helpfull with others because the societies which have kind full people have more beautiful environment rather than the society of selfish people. Secondly, most of time competetion decrease the love between people. After coming in competion people just focus on their own life instead of caring others and some time to get succeed in their work they also wanted to damage the other people things.

To conclude, people are now trying to compete with other but i think so we stay kind and helpfull to others because it is very important for us. If we just trying to compete others then we all face many problems in future. With some competion we also wish that the other people also get success in their life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the question and give a clear preference for cooperation, especially in the conclusion: “I think so we stay kind and helpfull to others.” The examples about students working hard and companies lowering prices make the benefits of competition relevant and understandable. However, the cooperation argument is less fully developed: claims that competition reduces love and can lead people to damage others’ property are asserted without a specific example or explanation. Your final point that “with some competion” others can also succeed introduces a useful qualification, but its relationship to your preference for cooperation is not fully explained. Develop this balance more clearly and support each main idea with a reasoned example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “To beggin with,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the discussion. Within paragraphs, however, progression is sometimes mechanical, with repeated “For example,” “In addition,” and “Furthermore,” rather than clear links showing how each point develops the previous one. Some references are also unclear, such as “their things” and “the other people things,” which makes the intended meaning less precise. The introduction promises to explain both views and give an opinion, but the opinion is mainly stated at the end. Use more precise referencing and connect examples explicitly to the claims they support.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to discuss competition, cooperation, education, business, and society, including “work hard,” “stay in the market,” and “selfish people.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “competion,” “people,” and “good.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, including “beggin,” “helpfull,” “valueable,” and “buisnessman,” which reduce the accuracy and polish of the response. Some expressions are difficult to interpret naturally, such as “make their things more valueable” and “beautiful environment” when describing a society. Build a wider set of precise collocations for discussing incentives, social relationships, and economic benefits, and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast between views and a conditional idea: “If we just trying to compete others then we all face many problems in future.” These attempts show some range, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “competition which encourage” needs a verb agreeing with “competition,” while “we may helped to each other” has an incorrect verb form and pattern. The conditional sentence also needs a correctly formed verb phrase, and “I will explain both views then then give” contains a repeated word and an incomplete construction. These errors do not generally prevent understanding, but they make several sentences less controlled. Practise accurate clauses and verb patterns before adding further complexity.
